The Middle School Student Council (grades 5-8) has partnered with local vendor OMG Donuts to sell donuts and gift cards, the proceeds from which will be used to support social activities for the entire Middle School throughout the year. Donuts are available in half-dozen orders and in three flavours – plain glazed, chocolate, and cookies ‘n cream; a half-dozen is $10. Gift certificates are available in $15, $25, and $50 amounts. (We can also provide custom amounts for gift certificates.) Donut sales will take place from November 6^th through Friday, November 16^th, and donuts/gift certificates will be delivered on Friday, November 30^th. My Capstone project is called Pitch Of Promise in honor of my father who had a passion for soccer and was a volunteer soccer coach at North Meck Soccer Club (now Carolina Rapids) before he passed. He was born in La Paz, Bolivia. This orphanage has boys and girls of all ages that love to play soccer and volleyball or a version of volleyball called “Wallyball”. I visited the orphanage this summer and they are grateful for anything we can provide (clothes, cleats, shin guards, balls, etc…). You can drop off the items in Mr. Arthur’s room, my advisory through Thanksgiving. I have a bin located in his room.

The Cannon Peer Support Team (pst;) will hold its first Talk Tuesday in English classroom 618 during lunch today. Come talk, listen & learn from other students wanting to discuss global, local or personal topics. Discussions will be moderated by Peer Support Team members providing a supportive, non-judgmental forum.

Student Council will be selling BOOgrams (our Halloween season candygrams) next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday outside of foundation hall during lunch! They will be selling for $1. Stop by and send a halloween treat to your friends! Have a spooky day!

On Monday, November 12, the Admission Office will be hosting the School Day Open House, which starts with a breakfast for our guests in the Dining Hall.  The Dining Hall will be closed between 8:45-9:45a.m. on Monday, November 12, for this event.  Please be sure to grab your breakfast and morning snacks prior to 8:45a.m.  Thank you!

There is a sign-up sheet outside of Mrs. Todd’s room in the World Language hallway to participate in the Foreign Language Festival Competition at Lenoir Rhyne. The deadline to sign up is October 31^st. On November 1^st, you will receive an e-mail from your faculty mentor.

Seniors: The College Counseling Team will offer Drop – In Hours for Seniors in The Cube on the following dates: 10/24 and 11/7.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Family Connection to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School.  Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event. Log into your Family Connection account to learn more about the colleges, find out visit times and register to attend. Visits will be held in The Cube or College Counseling Offices.
