Auditions for Cannon Theater Company’s winter musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” are happening September 11 (with some additional dates/times available for fall athletes.) All interested students grade 8-12 should follow the four steps/links below, which will also be accessible soon at www.cannonschool.org/ctc:

Step 2: Fill out this online audition form.

We offer part-time, flexible instructor positions working with students K-12. We are located in North Charlotte only 10 minutes from Cannon.

Lauren Skolaris saw a Cannon parent struggling with a rolling cooler and snacks to drop off for the volleyball team before their game, and she ran across the courtyard (showing KINDNESS) to help the parent and held the door open. Much appreciated!

Sane’ Davis demonstrated INTEGRITY and KINDNESS when she alerted a classmate that he had dropped his wallet as he was preparing to leave campus.

Maddie Johnson, Akshi Kumar, Emily Aldous, Greta Gruber, Izzie Ortiz, Will Carey, Lily Klett, Kaylin Slattery, Amelia Wyatt, Chrissy Stamey, Reah Syed, and Sarah Kate Edwards and Sarah Kuo demonstrated TEAMWORK and KINDNESS when they gave up part of their drop period to talk with new students about helpful tips to be successful in the Upper School. Thank you so much!

Dear Community Partners and School Staff & Administrators… We have had some amazing opportunities at Wings of Eagles Ranch to partner with local organizations, schools, colleges and universities to provide volunteering and service learning experiences in our 19 year history, and are once again looking for dedicated volunteers for our Fall 2018 therapeutic horseback riding program. We hope that you may be able to help us spread the word about Wings of Eagles Ranch to your high school and college students who are in need of volunteering hours or service projects.  Volunteer trainings are held before the beginning of each session (Fall Session is 8 weeks and starts on September 17, Winter Session is 6 weeks and starts in January 2019, and Spring Session is 8 weeks and starts in March 2019) and are only required for those interested in volunteering in the therapeutic riding program. Volunteer Training is mandatory for new volunteers and will take place on Tuesday September 4th or Thursday September 6th.

Student Ambassador Network

The Student Ambassador Network (“SAN”) is a group of Upper School students who represent Cannon School and demonstrate Cannon’s core values in their academic, athletic and artistic pursuits, both on campus and in their communities.  All Cannon Upper School students are invited to be active Cannon student ambassadors.  To get involved all you have to do is complete the Student Ambassador Profile (an 8-10 minute Survey) so we are better informed about you and your interests!  Please complete the profile by Friday, August 31.

Auditions for Cannon Theater Company’s winter musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” are happening September 4 and 11 (with some additional dates/times available for fall athletes.) Dear Community Partners and School Staff & Administrators… We have had some amazing opportunities at Wings of Eagles Ranch to partner with local organizations, schools, colleges and universities to provide volunteering and service learning experiences in our 19 year history, and are once again looking for dedicated volunteers for our Fall 2018 therapeutic horseback riding program. We hope that you may be able to help us spread the word about Wings of Eagles Ranch to your high school and college students who are in need of volunteering hours or service projects.  Volunteer trainings are held before the beginning of each session (Fall Session is 8 weeks and starts on September 17, Winter Session is 6 weeks and starts in January 2019, and Spring Session is 8 weeks and starts in March 2019) and are only required for those interested in volunteering in the therapeutic riding program. Volunteer Training is mandatory for new volunteers and will take place on Tuesday September 4th or Thursday September 6th.

Muskan Uppal showed TEAMWORK when she sent individual reminders to teachers about the first Advisory Buddy Breakfast. It was very helpful!

Olivia Wells demonstrated INTEGRITY when she contacted a teacher on a day she was absent to find out what she missed. Way to go, Olivia!

Harry Alexander, Ellen Weinstock, Nathan Campbell, Amaya King, Mahesh Vankineni, Harshini Gadudasu, and Olivia Olson, Owen Koehler showed INTEGRITY when they cleaned up a major popcorn mess that their classmates left on the front steps.


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Students interested in helping with the School Wide Counseling TAKE CARE Campaign, please email Mrs. Hoffman ahoffman@cannonschool.org with a “Yes to TAKE CARE!” and you will be invited to a planning meeting (there will be snacks!).

If you have a passion around physical and/or emotional/mental wellness and have strengths in any of the following:

  • Ideation/Creative Thinking
  • Graphic Design/Visual Arts
  • Creative Writing/Slogans, etc.
  • Social Media marketing
  • Public Speaking (to lower & middle schoolers)

This is a fun, low-stress way to get involved in helping others.

The Student Ambassador Network (“SAN”) is a group of Upper School students who represent Cannon School and demonstrate Cannon’s core values in their academic, athletic and artistic pursuits, both on campus and in their communities.  All Cannon Upper School students are invited to be active Cannon student ambassadors.  To get involved all you have to do is complete the Student Ambassador Profile (an 8-10 minute Survey) so we are better informed about you and your interests!  Please complete the profile by Friday, August 31.

US Students: The Testing Center will open TODAY, AUGUST 22 in Room 604. This 100% quiet space is used for completing a missed assessment or any assessment requiring the testing accommodation of separate setting.  This space may also be used for personal general study time. The Testing Center is proctored every block, every day.

Please know that IF YOU ARE COMPLETING A MISSED ASSESSMENTyou must arrive in the first 5 minutes of a block time. If you do so later than that, you will not be allowed to enter. This minimizes the number of interruptions for those in the Testing Center due to the opening and closing of the door.
