US Students: The Testing Center will open WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22 in Room 604. This 100% quiet space is used for completing a missed assessment or any assessment requiring the testing accommodation of separate setting.  This space may also be used for personal general study time. The Testing Center is proctored every block, every day.

Please know that IF YOU ARE COMPLETING A MISSED ASSESSMENT, you must arrive in the first 5 minutes of a block time. If you do so later than that, you will not be allowed to enter. This minimizes the number of interruptions for those in the Testing Center due to the opening and closing of the door.

Please be mindful of noise levels directly outside the Testing Center, and do not enter or use the Testing Center without a proctor present.

Student Ambassador Network

The Student Ambassador Network (“SAN”) is a group of Upper School students who represent Cannon School and demonstrate Cannon’s core values in their academic, athletic and artistic pursuits, both on campus and in their communities.  All Cannon Upper School students are invited to be active Cannon student ambassadors.  To get involved all you have to do is complete the Student Ambassador Profile (an 8-10 minute Survey) so we are better informed about you and your interests!  Please complete the profile by Friday, August 31.

Your materials must be submitted by 3 p.m. on 8/27/18 to Dr. Wilner (bwilner@cannonschool.org). (No late submissions will be accepted) Additional information is available on the College Counseling Power School page or through your college counselor.

9/16: Carnegie Mellon University will host an afternoon program.  Register to attend. 2 – 3 p.m. Charlotte Marriott SouthPark, 2200 Rexford Rd.

9/26: Tulane University will host an evening program.  Register to attend. 7 – 8:30 p.m. Providence Day School, 5800 Sardis Rd.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Family Connection to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School.  Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event. Henry Koehler and Tyler Chase showed KINDNESS when they hauled something heavy down the steps and out of the hallway.

McKenna Koch, Constantin Dornberg, and Zoë Smith showed TEAMWORK when they shared their stories with the new students!

Owen Koehler showed KINDNESS when he helped Dean Booker with a project!  Way to be a leader!

Julia Riley demonstrated KINDNESS when she helped a ninth grader get to his class because he was lost. Way to go!

Marques Walker demonstrated KINDNESS when he offered to hand out the textbooks in his Geometry class!  Thanks for your help!

Lower School’s theme for 2018-2019 is “Spread the L.O.V.E (Living Our Values Everyday).  For our AE days, we will be offering passion classes in the afternoons from 1:10-2:40 on Sept 14, Nov 9, Feb 8, April 26.  We would love to invite anyone interested in working with our youngest students to join us as assistant teachers for these classes.  Please complete this form to pick class ideas in which you are interested.  When completing the form, you will also be able to pick the  grade levels you prefer to work with on our AE days.   Also note which days you can participate at the end of the form.  If you have any questions, please contact M. Student Drivers and Bus Riders:

• AM: Drivers must make a right turn ONLY at the intersection just beyond the Upper School Building
  
• PM: You may not leave campus until ALL bus traffic has exited the campus.
  
• PM: If you have a sibling in LS or MS, you must walk down to pick them up.
  
• PM: From 2:30pm until all of the busses exit, no traffic will be allowed to the back of the building.
