Will Lomax demonstrated passion when he became the leader of the French 4 class, helping his classmates figure out answers to a grammar practice exercise.

Landon Mare, Danny Saltzman and Sajan Patel were COURAGEOUS when he shared his journal entry with his peers in English class.

Morgan Teifer showed teamwork when she led her advisory group in one of our Student Life sessions by sharing some questions and encouraging her peers to participate actively. Well done, Morgan!

National Art Honors Society had our interest meeting last month, and we were very excited to see people were interested in being a part of what we do. We also wanted to send out an email for any people who didn’t have time to come to the interest meeting. 

Here are the requirements to become a member:

  • At least 3 years of Visual Arts Courses

  • A- average in Visual Arts Classes

  • 20 cumulative NAHS sponsored service hours

  • 10 cumulative NAHS sponsored service hours for the Class of 2022

  • 1 piece of art submitted to The Ink: Literary Arts Magazine (who are taking submissions now)

  • Paid dues of $10 (for underclassmen) and $22 (for Seniors)

If you are interested in being a member or have questions about NAHS. Please email me at gphillips@cannonschool.org. Please also keep in mind that this and Honors Society, not a club for you to join and then do nothing with.

***Attention Sophomores! Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar is a 3-day leadership program held each June for rising juniors. Students are given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and learn how to apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace, and community. To learn more about the application process and deadlines, please join the College Counseling Team in the Cube TODAY October 25th during lunch for a Lunch and Learn. You will also hear from current juniors who attended the program this past summer. We will see you there!


***Do you like working with younger students in Lower School?  Do you like earning a little spending money?  Well, we have a great way for you to do both and give back to Cannon School’s After School Program.  We are looking for interested Upper School students to engage in educational and recreational activities with children Monday-Friday from 3:00 to 6:00pm.  If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please contact Lee Jones in the Enrichment Programs office: leejones@cannonschool.org  or 704-721-7198.

Hey everyone! On October 26th, the History Club is having a meeting in Mrs. Huffman’s room (705) during office hours! This meeting will include a potluck which will have plenty of food to go around, as well as history based/themed board games to play! Feel free to bring your own cultural food or board games as you wish. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Huffman or Sam Duty.

Would you like to offer friendship, guidance and support to a child?  Here is how YOU can help.  We are currently in need of mentors (Bigs) at our site based program at the Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club.  Below is the criteria:

  • You need to be at least 16 years old
  • You need to be able to commit to at least to 15 months of service
  • You need to be able to serve (1) hour per week

****Congratulations to our UNDEFEATED JV Football team on their tremendous season! However, we still have a lot of action-packed games ahead of us! I have attached a flyer for you to share with your athletes and families.

 

Tonight, the Warriors take on Metrolina Christian at 7:00 PM. It is also our Little Cougar Cheer Night, where our Lower Schoolers will be joining our US Cheerleaders for the 1st half.

Tomorrow, our UNDEFEATED Volleyball team plays in the NCISAA Quarter finals at 4:00 PM. We want to pack Boswell with as many fans as we can! Please spread the word and come out to support your Cougars!
