***We will be hosting our annual Advisory Halloween Costume Contest this Wednesday October 27th. 

 The Deans will judge the best advisory for an advisory lunch!

 Advisors: Please make sure you reach out to your grade level Dean to get their themes approved. 

 There should not be any “questionable” theme choices.

***Attention Sophomores! Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar is a 3-day leadership program held each June for rising juniors. Students are given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and learn how to apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace, and community. To learn more about the application process and deadlines, please join the College Counseling Team in the Cube TODAY October 25th during lunch for a Lunch and Learn. You will also hear from current juniors who attended the program this past summer. We will see you there!


***Do you like working with younger students in Lower School?  Do you like earning a little spending money?  Well, we have a great way for you to do both and give back to Cannon School’s After School Program.  We are looking for interested Upper School students to engage in educational and recreational activities with children Monday-Friday from 3:00 to 6:00pm.  If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please contact Lee Jones in the Enrichment Programs office: leejones@cannonschool.org  or 704-721-7198.


***The next meeting of the Model United Nations team is Tuesday, October 26th during Office Hours (10:05 – 10:30).  The meeting will take place in the library annex. Mr. Kmidowski will share information regarding the Johns Hopkins MUN Conference scheduled for February 2022.

The Cannon School Literary Arts Magazine, The Ink, is officially looking for artwork! Follow this link to submit your art. We will accept all drawings, prints, illustrations, photography, paintings, graphic design/digital artwork, multimedia pieces, video, and audio performances from all grade levels. Hey everyone! On October 26th, the History Club is having a meeting in Mrs. Huffman’s room (705) during office hours! This meeting will include a potluck which will have plenty of food to go around, as well as history based/themed board games to play! Feel free to bring your own cultural food or board games as you wish. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Huffman or Sam Duty.


Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national mentoring organization.  Its mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1 to 1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Would you like to offer friendship, guidance and support to a child?  Here is how YOU can help.  We are currently in need of mentors (Bigs) at our site based program at the Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club.  Below is the criteria:

  • You need to be at least 16 years old
  • You need to be able to commit to at least to 15 months of service
  • You need to be able to serve (1) hour per week
