Hey Everyone!

The STEM Career Club will be having its first meeting in Mrs. Mattsson’s room on Thursday December 2nd during lunch! We will be having a former dolphin trainer, and manatee rescuer speak about his career. If you are interested in marine biology, this meeting is a great opportunity to learn from an expert what it’s like to work up close with marine animals! Anyone is welcome to attend, even if you did not sign up for the club.

Carter Huffman showed kindness when he voluntarily made multiple trips to the printer to ensure everyone in the class had their essays printed and ready to submit on time.

Kate Booker showed KINDNESS by helping her dad take in the boxes from the car.

Leland Raines displayed PASSION as he performed twice with the US strings ensemble. He took the extra time to practice with them and attend the performances.

Victor Lopez, Josiah Stewart, Carter Cassidy, and Grant Watkins demonstrated KINDNESS when they carried pom poms, and bags of celebratory equipment from the fan bus all the way to the field at Friday Night’s Championship game!

Through videos, dialogues, and interactive activities you will learn how to become a certified peacebuilder, earn service hours, learn peace frameworks, learn how to solve social issues, and how to spark positive change in your community.

Faith Carpenter, Thomas Coffey, and Sarah Leonard showed integrity in a class game when they stayed true to their word and attempted to benefit the whole group instead of just themselves.

Claudia Joyce showed teamwork when she led her advisory group in one of our Student Life sessions by sharing some questions and encouraging her peers to participate actively. Well done, Claudia!!!

JP Hondros stepped up multiple times for his classmates in Precalculus class by sharing various supplies that his classmates needed. Each time, he was quick to find what a student needed and offered the item to them. His Kindness for others was on full display. 

Evan Ingram showed huge COURAGE by dealing with a scary bug in the hallway!

Maryanne Lewis demonstrated COURAGE, even if she didn’t know it at the time, by completing a sophomore vocabulary assessment when her teacher inadvertently gave her that version instead of the freshman version. Way to go, Maryanne!

***Hello Upper School!

A new and exciting program is available to Cannon Students called Youth Peace and Action (YPA) which is an online leadership course centered around PEACE that equips young people to think deeply, become an adaptive problem solver, and advocates in their communities. Through videos, dialogues, and interactive activities you will learn how to become a certified peacebuilder, earn service hours, learn peace frameworks, learn how to solve social issues, and how to spark positive change in your community. 

If you are interested in learning more and enrolling in the program join the meeting on Tuesday, November 16th during lunch in the CUBE (College Counseling)! Food will be provided! Want to get started now? Enroll into the program by following the instructions in the attached flyer!

Come check out the amazing work of the 26 cast and crew members who have brought these stories to life. Admission is free for Cannon School employees and families, $5 for guests. While watching Peter Jackson’s brilliant film about the First World War, They Shall Not Grow Old, we will write cards of support to veterans. Yummy treats will be provided. Everyone welcome!

Anyia Brooks-Manning was super KIND when she assisted a teacher with an assortment of morning challenges! She saved the day. 

Nadia Ristich, Sarah Leonard, Fiona Chen, and Thomas Coffey showed COURAGE by sharing thoughts and questions during CORE with College Counseling.

Bennett Miller demonstrated kindness when he cleaned up another student’s paint station that they left on the table.

Olivia Olson demonstrated KINDNESS when she gifted a teacher a Starbucks drink that had been given to her for free. Thanks for making someone’s day, Olivia!
