HEY EVERYBODY!

The CUSP is starting a series that highlights students for any extracurricular activities that haven’t received much recognition at school. If you do anything after school that has become a passion for you and you would like to share that experience with your community, email Heidi Coppa for an interview at hcoppa@cannonschool.org. Be sure to mention what your extracurricular activity is. We would love to hear about your experiences and how they have made you a better person, artist, athlete, and student.

If you don’t have any after school interests, be sure to stay tuned to hear about your peers’ accomplishments at https://www.cusponline.com/. Thank you!

Fall 2018 Driver Education Program

This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the fall semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/).  WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday – Friday, November 5th- 16th in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.  We hope to offer another class in the spring through WatsOnWheels, but we have yet to schedule specific dates.

After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours.

The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.

To register for the fall driver education class, please complete this Google Formhttps://goo.gl/forms/7GfFsZDLUCru33v02.  If you have additional questions, please email me (khulin@cannonschool.org).
