Athletes competing in Track & Field: Stop by the library annex on Thursday January 30 during lunch (11:15-12)! Coach Biehler and Coach Taylor will be there to share information about the start of practice, meet schedule, gear/team store and uniforms, etc. Samples of gear and uniforms will be on hand to try on for fit. All athletes interested in competing are welcome!

If you are unable to attend, please stop by the math office sometime on Thursday afternoon (math drop) to get the information from Coach Taylor.

***Let’s clear the air and protect what we love! Drop in for an evening of aerial yoga and environmental awareness. This event will take place on Saturday, February 22 at The Yoga Cove Concord. All are welcome! We will be hosting 4 sessions, starting at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30 pm. Admission price is $12 for one 30 minute session. The funds from this event will be donated to Sustain Charlotte, a local non-profit that supports and inspires our world’s citizens to live healthy, sustainable lives. The Halfway There Winter Dance is right around the corner on Saturday, January 25th! Halfway There is a time to celebrate that we are halfway through the school year and for seniors, halfway to graduation. This year’s dance is a semi-formal dance with the theme “ A Winter Wonderland.” Join us for a fabulous dance, great desserts, and a night of fun and entertainment!  Seniors will need to plan to arrive by 6:00pm while all others should arrive at 7:00pm.

Tickets will officially go on sale today, Wednesday, January 15th and the link is now active. Pre-order ticket sales officially end on Thursday, January 23rd because we have to have a final count for food. The tickets are $12 in advance from January 14th-January 23rd and $15 if you are late to purchase including buying tickets at the door. (All tickets at the door will be billed to your account if you do not have exact change. No checks are accepted at the door.) You may get tickets by responding on the Google form at the link below. For your convenience, you may choose to bill your account for the cost of the ticket. Spring 2020 Driver Education Program

This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the spring semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/).  WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday, March 23rd to Friday, April 3rd in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.

After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours.

The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.

Esther Burlington and Nicky Thompson exhibited COURAGE when they ventured out of their normal coterie to (gasp!) sit on the opposite side of the room and engage in conversation with different people.

Jasmine McRae was an exceptional team player by allowing another lab group to borrow her apple adapter so they could accomplish a lab.

Kate Nelson and Morgan Stilphen showed KINDNESS by taking a ton of pizza boxes to the dumpster for House Humanitas!

Matthew Leonard demonstrated PASSION when he discussed some new material he learned in class this year with a former teacher, making connections with prior knowledge.

This year’s dance is a semi-formal dance with the theme “ A Winter Wonderland.” Join us for a fabulous dance, great desserts, and a night of fun and entertainment!  Seniors will need to plan to arrive by 6:00pm while all others should arrive at 7:00pm.

Tickets will officially go on sale today, Wednesday, January 15th and the link is now active. Pre-order ticket sales officially end on Thursday, January 23rd because we have to have a final count for food. The tickets are $12 in advance from January 14th-January 23rd and $15 if you are late to purchase including buying tickets at the door. (All tickets at the door will be billed to your account if you do not have exact change. No checks are accepted at the door.) You may get tickets by responding on the Google form at the link below. For your convenience, you may choose to bill your account for the cost of the ticket. You may also get tickets from Ms. Eury in room #701.

Students for Constitutional Government will be meeting Friday, January 17th in Foundation Hall. The topic of our discussion will be “What is the role of government?” and “What is the proper balance of local and federal power?”


There are a few cars in the parking lot with no parking sticker. You are strongly encouraged to reach out to Dean Williams to take care of this matter.  The goal is to have 100% of all cars with parking stickers. If you need it, below you will find the Campus Parking Form:

This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the spring semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/).  WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday, March 23rd to Friday, April 3rd in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.

After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours.

The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.

***During New Student Seminar, the class of 2023 was tasked with signing up for and keeping at least ONE Academic Coaching (ACC) appointment this school year.  Those who did so in 1st semester were entered into a raffle for gift cards to Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks.
