***During New Student Seminar, the class of 2023 was tasked with signing up for and keeping at least ONE Academic Coaching (ACC) appointment this school year.  Those who did so in 1st semester were entered into a raffle for gift cards to Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks. Congratulations to our raffle winners – Chase Erdin, Helen Craft, and Gregory Olson!

Trouble getting or staying organized?  Difficulty managing your time? Need an accountability partner to help keep your goals on track? Looking for some fresh study or work space scenery? Absences or early dismissals got you feeling behind? How can Academic Coaching at Cannon (ACC) help you push to a strong finish for Trimester 2?

Academic Coaching (Room 606) resumes Wednesday, Jan. 22 – time slots are available! Our Academic Coaching team  (Mr. Hatcher, Mrs. Calles, Mrs. Kulp, Mrs. Mattsson, Mr. Smith, and Mrs. Miller) are ready to support YOU in the way YOU choose!  YOU decide date and time of appointment, frequency of appointments (3x is recommended!), length of appointment, and the content of appointment.

Use the ACADEMIC COACHING QR CODES posted throughout the building and outside teachers’ classrooms to secure an appointment with one of our AWESOME Academic Coaches! If you need help signing up for an appointment, please reach out directly to Mrs. Kulp (jkulp@cannonschool.org).

*** The password for EBSCO was changed over the winter break.  Please refer to the EBSCO tab on the library page for the new password.

Students for Constitutional Government will be meeting Friday, January 17th in Foundation Hall. The topic of our discussion will be “What is the role of government?” and “What is the proper balance of local and federal power?”

There are a few cars in the parking lot with no parking sticker. You are strongly encouraged to reach out to Dean Williams to take care of this matter.  The goal is to have 100% of all cars with parking stickers. If you need it, below you will find the Campus Parking Form:

Spring 2020 Driver Education Program

This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the spring semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/).  WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday, March 23rd to Friday, April 3rd in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.
