The student volunteers do not need to be from any specific ethnic group or background to participate. Recording of the video will happen on campus on Thursday November 16th during a time slot between 10 am-12:00pm.

The first three students to email Mr. Hurtado will be chosen for this opportunity.

Veterans Day 2023 - Awareness Days Events Calendar 2023

 

Elizabeth Booker, Callan Ruddy, Luke Seeber, Ava Hobart, Sky Thurman, and Griffin Evans showed TEAMWORK when they climbed ladders and helped take down years-old tape from the overhang in the Mill. 🪜

Kendyl Majors showed TEAMWORK when she helped a classmate get to the nurse’s office.😷

Maggie Majors showed KINDNESS when she offered to bring donuts to the all-freshman girls’ breakfast get-together 🍩

Sophie Laatz demonstrated TEAMWORK and KINDNESS when she picked up the advisory breakfast from Chick-fil-A. Thank you Sophie! 

Hannah Wittwer demonstrated TEAMWORK and PASSION when she took the lead and a lot of the workload in decorating our Advisory classroom door for Thanksgiving. 🦃 🤚🏼

Sofia Moncada demonstrated INTEGRITY when she was accidentally provided with an answer key to a quiz and immediately notified her teacher of the mistake without taking advantage of the situation.

Sophie Condon and CC Burlington showed TEAMWORK when they participated in a seminar that they had already completed in order to provide additional perspectives for their classmates who did not get to participate in the first seminar.

Naomi Fleckman showed INTEGRITY when she made her teacher aware of a mistake in the grade book that did not benefit her grade. Thank you for being honest and letting your teacher know, Naomi.

Greg Watson showed PASSION for his Advisory by organizing their group Halloween costume this year. Great job Greg!

Liam Gibbons demonstrated KINDNESS when he made sure a student’s glasses that had fallen did not get stepped on in the hallway.

Leaders Unite!  Our Keynote speaker on Thursday 11/2 will be Cannon School’s legendary Dean Trojan (AKA JoeTro).  He’ll be discussing the value of COMMUNICATION for a leader.  EVERYONE is welcome. Come to FH with your lunch and let’s learn! 

The North Carolina Music Educators Association will host the North Carolina All-State Orchestra at the North Carolina School of the Arts the first weekend in November. Ian Kuo ’25 auditioned and performed at a very high level to be accepted into the North Carolina All-State Orchestra. He will spend the weekend working with Nobuyoshi Yasuda, a nationally renowned conductor and educator. The orchestra will perform Sunday, November 5 at 4:30pm in the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Congratulations Ian!
