HOLASPANISH CLUB!

We have a lot of exciting things we hope to do this year including serving in the Spanish Community, (YES THAT MEANS SERVICE HOURS) as well as some fun activities, like watching Spanish horror movies in the month of October and learning how to make Spanish recipes. We really hope you guys are as excited as we are! Our first meeting will be held on September 22 during Student Choice, so the Thursday after class trips are over. We will introduce ourselves to you all and discuss ideas for the future of Spanish Club this year. Hope to see you all there, Morgan Waite, Alex Holloway, Mary Edwards, and Mrs. Cabrera

Homecoming and the Fall semi-formal are right around the corner! This year’s dance will be full of surprises and prizes as we celebrate our Cannon Community. Join DJ Phalse iD for a fabulous dance, great snacks, and a night of fun and entertainment! Tickets will go on sale Monday after class trips. The tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. You may get tickets from Student Council representatives when they come to your advisory, or you may purchase at any time from Ms. Harley or Ms. Eury.

House Animus will be taking orders for Pura Vida Bracelets OUTSIDE FOUNDATION HALL DURING LUNCH STARTING TUES, SEPT 6.  The red and blue bracelets benefit the American Widow Project, an organization that supports and rehabilitates families of fallen service members during their periods of grieving.  The bracelets COST $5 (please pay cash), and they will be delivered to your advisory when they are ready!  If you have any questions, please email cmichaels@cannonschool.org(Animus Service Prefect) or jliborio@cannonschool.org (Animus Head Girl).

ATTENTION FRESHMAN!!! All Freshman interested in running for student council need to get a copy of the bylaws from Ms. Harley. This needs to be turned in with a parent signature along with your speech by TODAY at 3:00 to Ms. Harley. Elections will be held for the three freshman representative spots during your class trip. Thank you so much for your interest in student council–we would love to have you on the team!

ATTENTION FRESHMAN!!! All Freshman interested in running for student council need to get a copy of the bylaws from Ms. Harley. Practice and game schedules, as well as spirit pack order information, will be discussed. If you would like to participate on the varsity girls’ basketball teams this winter, you must attend.

Mr. Cobb demonstrated RESPECT and ownership for Cannon School when he picked up a number of empty water bottles and sports drink bottles that were left behind on the grass between the tennis courts and the football field.  Thank you, Mr. Cobb!

Abbey Redding showed PASSION figuring out the exact right meaning of a word so that the teacher and students understood the difference between two similar words.

Joe Russell showed TEAMWORK when he took a big stack of trays back to the cafeteria first thing in the morning.

Holly Springate demonstrated INTEGRITY when she arranged to come to a class she was missing due to an appointment during her drop period so she didn’t miss any of the material. Way to go, Holly!

Will Carey demonstrated INTEGRITY when he asked before a quiz if notes he planned to use would be in accordance with the honor code.  Way to go, Will!
