All Students: class of 2015 Cannon alum and United States Naval Academy cadet Sydney Frankenberg, will visit Cannon School on Monday, Nov. 21st from 8:30 – 9:00 to talk about applying to a military academy and also to share about her experience at the Academy. Sophomores and Juniors interested in attending this meeting should sign up via Family Connection. Interested freshmen should contact your college counselor.

Join the Upper School Spanish Club this Wednesday after school in the cafeteria annex for an hour of Salsa dancing! Our own Alumni Relations Coordinator, Mrs. Sarah Allgood will be teaching Salsa for beginners. A donation of $3 will be taken at the door. Please wear comfy shoes and bring a friend! Faculty, staff & students are welcome. 

The Spanish Club is offering a salsa dance class after school on Wednesday November 16th. . The class will be located in the outside dinning hall (where middle school has lunch). The class will go from 3:15 to 4:15, no payment is required but donations will be accepted! Please bring a change of athletic clothes and tell your friends to come! Please email Mary Edwards, Morgan Waite, or Alex Holloway if you have any questions. 

What better end is there to a Project Wrap-In than the Upper School talent show??? Eat some cookies, wrap some presents, then get up on stage and show off your talent! Congratulations to Cannon Theater Company for racking up five acting awards at the North Carolina Theater Conference High School Play Festival for their performances of “The Children’s Hour” and “Italian American Reconciliation” this weekend! Fifteen plays from area schools were presented. Andrea Moore, Sara Serulneck, and Harris Wellborn took home three of the ten available Excellence in Acting awards; Clint Harris earned one of the two Outstanding Achievement in Acting awards; and the cast of “The Children’s Hour” earned one of the two Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Acting awards. Come see Cannon Theater Company perform these two powerful shows right here in the Cannon Performing Arts Center this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday November 10-12, 7:00-8:30pm! Tickets are free for all Cannon employees and students, $10 for others, and will be sold at the door.

Upper School Student Drivers,

Tuesday, November 8th we will have visitors on campus for voting. To accommodate traffic flow near the buildings: 

Juniors and Sophomores – Park on the practice field located to the left of the baseball field. There will be maintenance workers directing you to park there. 

Juniors – Please park down by the baseball field and no farther up than the lower tennis courts.

Seniors – You may park in senior parking, but know that faculty may be parking there as well. You can park down the road toward the baseball field as long as it is in an actual spot (not on the grass).  Thanks in advance!

Tuesday, November 8th, we will celebrate our democracy and Election Day with KidsVoting! Please stop by the Private Dining Room between classes, during breaks and lunch, and during student choice to vote! The AP Gov students and ELP classes will also be collecting exit poll data. In order to fully celebrate our right to vote and democratic values, please wear your red, white, and blue that day! Since we are a precinct for regular voting and KidsVoting, students may not wear political shirts supporting particular candidates and/or issues since electioneering activities are not allowed too close the voting polls.

I AM COLLECTING ITEMS TO FILL SHOE BOXES TO SEND OVERSEAS TO CHILDREN IN UNDEVELOPED COUNTRIES. THE ITEMS I AM ASKING TO BE DONATED ARE ON A LIST BY MY POSTERS AND BINS THAT ARE LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE UPPER SCHOOL. Upper School Student Drivers,

Tuesday, November 8th we will have visitors on campus for voting. To accommodate traffic flow near the buildings: 

Juniors and Sophomores – Park on the practice field located to the left of the baseball field. There will be maintenance workers directing you to park there. 

Juniors – Please park down by the baseball field and no farther up than the lower tennis courts.

Seniors – You may park in senior parking, but know that faculty may be parking there as well. You can park down the road toward the baseball field as long as it is in an actual spot (not on the grass).  Thanks in advance!

Tuesday, November 8th, we will celebrate our democracy and Election Day with KidsVoting! Please stop by the Private Dining Room between classes, during breaks and lunch, and during student choice to vote! The AP Gov students and ELP classes will also be collecting exit poll data. In order to fully celebrate our right to vote and democratic values, please wear your red, white, and blue that day! Since we are a precinct for regular voting and KidsVoting, students may not wear political shirts supporting particular candidates and/or issues since electioneering activities are not allowed too close the voting polls.
