Over the weekend 10/26: DJ Nix

Kendyl Lauher and Ainsley Edmiston demonstrated TEAMWORK when they sorted and distributed all the school portraits for Upper School this week.

Courtney Nix and DJ Nix demonstrated KINDNESS when they volunteered to carry some boxes from the cafeteria to Dean Zelaya’s office.

Ella Kungl showed COURAGE when she followed through on a coaching goal that took some guts!

Elijah Ormiston demonstrated KINDNESS by letting two cars from Kings Crossing onto Poplar Tent Road ahead of him when traffic was backed up before school.

The MODEL UN TEAM will meet in the Library Annex during lunch on MONDAY, OCTOBER 28 to announce available spots on the travel team for our competition at UVA the weekend of November 15-17!!!!! Be there if you want to learn about the process of applying and pick up important materials. Freshmen members of our team are exempt from this Monday’s meeting, but we are SO PROUD of you guys for your turnout and performance at CHARMUN!

Hey everyone! After school TODAY (10/25) Impetus is hosting an event. At 3:30-7 there will be Mario Cart and Halloween movies playing in the Library Annex. Bring your friends and hang out before the game!

Charlotte Performing and Visual Arts Fair.

Are you a high school student who may want to study the arts in college?  Whether you are a dancer, actor/actress, painter, musician, sculptor, graphic artist, or filmmaker, consider attending the Charlotte Performing and Visual Arts Fair to be held on Tuesday, October 29 from 7-9 PM at The Park Expo and Conference Center (800 Briar Creek Road, next door to Bojangles Arena on Independence Blvd.)  This FREE event will feature over 50 colleges and universities, from art schools to large state universities to liberal arts colleges, and is open to ALL interested students and families. Hey Cougs! Our own Amanda Sambach, state medalist in yesterday’s NCISAA girls’ golf championship, is a contender for the Charlotte Observer player of the week! Go NOW to and vote, because voting ends today and we want her to win! And congrats to her and our entire girls golf STATE CHAMPIONS!!!

Students for Constitutional Government will meet on Friday, October 25th from 11:15am to 12:00pm in Foundation Hall. Our guest speaker, Dean Booker, will be discussing individual rights. 

Calling all Cannon Students! The Cannon School Student Council is in search of students to join the Student Council Volunteer Corps. It’s fun, easy, and a great way to meet people across all grades! The volunteer group will be called upon to help with fulfilling Student Council service projects and initiatives. This is a great opportunity to gain community service hours and gain leadership experience. You can help where and when you want! This is a perfect way to see behind the scenes of Student Council and can propel you to run for an elected position in the future! Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Naviance Student to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School.  Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event. Students who need assistance accessing their Naviance account or registering for college visits should contact their college counselor.
