Humanitas is going to collect supplies for a local charity called Soap N’ Hope that is led by our very own Amelie Kadackal! On Day of Service, we are going to package and personalize the items we collect for the charity!
In case you didn’t know, Soap N’ Hope collects small, travel sized versions of essential hygiene products (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, etc.) as well as feminine hygiene products and adult diapers. These are placed in a Ziploc bag alongside a small note of kindness to connect with the recipient. The bags are then dropped off at women’s shelters in Cabarrus/Mecklenburg County. Please help us to collect these donations!
Nicki Cusamano’s new book, Painting Dreams now available on Amazon!
Remember to enter the CPAC through the side doors on 3/22 for our Cum Laude ceremony.
March 23 (the last day before spring break!!!) there will be a Concert in the COMMONS during LUNCH!!! For anyone who would like to perform in it, please contact any of the junior StuCo reps (Greta Gruber, Tommy Jones, Alex Varghese) in person or by email. Thanks!!
Spring 2018 Driver Education Program
This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the spring semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/). WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student. The classes will be held Monday – Friday, April 9th – 25th (excluding April 18th) in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours.
The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.
To register for the driver education class, please complete this Google Form https://goo.gl/forms/DrjXvKqTi0aoCVO33. If you have additional questions, please email me (khulin@cannonschool.org).
LAST CALL: any other Model UN team members interested in the one-day scrimmage at Charlotte Latin on APRIL 28 should come to Mrs. Shaefer’s room for a quick registration session and meeting during lunch on Wednesday (3/21). This is not required—just fun, and especially encouraged for new MUN members! All participants must be registered this week. Stay tuned for meetings right after Spring Break about other upcoming MUN events.
