September Calendar of Events 2022 - Aussie Childcare Network

9th graders McKenzie Allen, Brannon Bell, Laura Ann Bowen, Janani Karthik, Autumn Latta, Zora McDowell & Cayden Zukowski showed COURAGE when they attended and participated in their first Leadership Lunch.

Sylvia Romley and Colin Klueg showed KINDNESS  by helping an injured student carry her stuff to class. 

Kudos to Austin Gustafson and Sophie Pittman for showing PASSION in the Shakespearean Insult Battle.  Colby Dry showed KINDNESS when he found himself unable to insult his peers and instead complimented them.

Zeke Hernandez showed TEAMWORK when he went out of his way to help return equipment to another site on campus.

Lauren Benz and Gabby Frei showed TEAMWORK when they returned to the CPAC to pick up a friend’s sweatshirt.

Rubio’s room). This meeting will be conducted by a representative from TECHO, our partner organization, via Zoom. You will get to hear all the details about the experience and to ask any questions you may have. The Building Trip will take place from January 6th to January 11th, 2025 (Winterm).

Quinn Frood demonstrated KINDNESS when he noticed I was struggling with the door and offered a hand. TWO celebrations for Quinn today! A birthday AND a Core Value on the same day?!?! That has never been done before 😁

Maryanne Lewis, Victor Lopez, and Sophie Pittman demonstrated PASSION and TEAMWORK when they decorated the Senior lounge to welcome back the Class of 2025!

Mia Valencia demonstrated COURAGE and KINDNESS for being a great friend to another student. 

Ben O’Hara and Ian Goff demonstrated PASSION by requesting a meeting with some faculty members in order to understand the proper process and steps needed to organize a possible whole school event to celebrate democracy. Well done!

The entire A.Taylor Advisory- Keira Cassidy, Camauri Davis, Emma Jones, Addison Maynor, Hina Nakamura, Linden Sonnefeld, Grace TerPoorten, and Sally Woolwine demonstrated passion for their fellow advisees Victoria Marion and Layla Wagner by showing up to their volleyball games. Alayna Poole showed kindness in welcoming a new student to Cannon by introducing herself and offering support as a fellow member of House Impetus!

Bronwyn Seeber and Anne McDermott demonstrated PASSION when volunteering to share the Dean’s Daily Download with her Advisory.

Gabriel Zelaya demonstrated TEAMWORK and KINDNESS when he cleaned up the trash in the senior lounge. Thanks, Gabe! 

Griffin Evans, Claire Northrup, Jack Kirby, Praytush Siva, Brandon Wong, and Canon Diana all showed great TEAMWORK by efficiently unloading innumerable unwieldy items.

After reading our Unity Pledge, reflect on the following questions in Advisory:
1- Which action from the pledge resonates most with you today, and why?
2-How do your everyday interactions, both positive and negative, contribute to or detract from our unity as a community?

Sean Dalaban, Charlie Thetford, and Brennan Wilhite all demonstrated COURAGE when they came by to see their teacher during Office Hours to clarify their understanding of the class. Way to advocate for yourselves! Way to go!

Jakaila Gaskin demonstrated KINDNESS by regularly including and inviting fellow new students into social settings to help them feel welcomed.

Brianna Larkins and Lily Waite demonstrated integrity in class by being peer role models for underclassmen helping them to adjust and respect upper school classroom environments.

Isabella Stephens displayed kindness by inviting a new student to room with her and her friends for the class trip.

Claire Northrup demonstrated teamwork when she helped her classmates get in contact with College Board by offering advice and writing the phone number on the board.

Anne McDermott, Addison Maynor, Ruthie Hillman, and Lauren Childress all lent a hand to Dean Zelaya and helped transport Yearbook materials.  THANKS for your TEAMWORK!!

Gray Bokas showed KINDNESS today when he noticed that Mrs. Craft’s hands were full and unlocked. He opened the door to the Cougar’s Den for her without having to be asked.

Tyce Evins showed RESPECT for our shared community spaces when he cleaned up a mess that was left in the Commons after lunch.

Isaac Taylor, Jessie Wrenholt and Emily Kessel all demonstrated COURAGE when they reached out to a teacher to share that a recommended note-taking technique was not working for them. Way to advocate for yourselves and others! Bravo! 

Congratulations to Annalise Leck for being selected as a 2024 Coolidge Senator. Annalise was one of 4,100 applicants this year, and one of the 100 Senators selected for a four day leadership retreat in Vermont. Way to go, Annalise!

Grace Morrison demonstrated teamwork, courage, and passion when she voluntarily offered to share the Deans’ Daily Download with the Advisory.

Sebastian Dally, Neil Saini, Owen Fox, and Henry Garrison displayed KINDNESS when joyfully accepting the request to help Mrs. Hurtado move some furniture to the Middle School. Thank you so much, friends!

Isaac Taylor and Samuel Simon showed TEAMWORK when he helped clean up the whole student section after Friday night’s football game. Way to go Isaac and Samuel!

Today is our first OFFICE HOURS from 12:55- 1:40. Please use the map below to decide what classroom or study space you should go to and get some help or just get some work done.  ALL students must be in a designated space-  no roaming the halls or sitting in the hallways.  ONLY Seniors in the Commons. This is not a time to be in Advisory- your Advisors need to be available to their students.  If you have any questions or are confused, please ask your Advisor or your Grade-Level Dean. Let’s use our time wisely!
