Whether you are taking the PSAT or SAT, Mr. Bennett is offering 2 free sessions during Office Hours in the Library Annex. In addition to content and retrieval practice, he will share some testing taking tips, tricks, and strategies. Mr. Bennett has worked as a testing consultant for a good number of years, and he is willing to share his expertise with you!

David Britt is an entrepreneur who created the SpiiderGriip which has now expanded throughout the country and into major retailers such as Walmart and Amazon. He has worked with many celebrities in his business, including Pitbull. 

If you are interested in learning more about his ventures in business, entrepreneurship, real estate, or music, please join us and RSVP to the email sent by Olivia Long (olong@cannonschool.org). Location will be determined based on how many people RSVP, and an email will be sent out informing the attendees of the location.

The Club Fair was a huge success!
Thank you to all leading clubs, affinity groups, & alliances! 

Students who were absent or didn’t get a chance to see all club offerings can find all of that information and join clubs on their Club Hub account.  See Dean Zelaya if you have any trouble!

Janani Karthik, Finn Pralong, Grace Ryan, and Gabe Sacks showed COURAGE by speaking to the whole 9th grade class and TEAMWORK with their willingness to represent the c/o 2028 in Student Council.

Tyler Donia showed great KINDNESS in delivering (again) materials (again) on behalf of a wildly overburdened (again) teacher (thanks again)!

Lara Bulat showed KINDNESS (and teamwork) in returning a delivery vehicle halfway across campus!

Vivian Lowe showed KINDNESS (and teamwork) in returning a delivery vehicle halfway across campus.

Canon Diana dealt a great KINDNESS when he sprang into action after a sudden and unexpected caffeinated liquid dispersal!

4 Reasons Why Attendance Matters | News Details -Here’s a reminder about absences that Dr. Eury shared at our last community meeting:

Because you cannot replace class time or replicate the in-class experience, students must be in school for at least half the day to attend athletics/arts/Esports.

8 absences in a trimester or 14 absences for the year in a class:
Student will be put on an Academic Warning until the end of the trimester. 

23 absences for the entire year (25%) in a class:
Student will receive a pass/fail for the year.

DEANS DAILY DOWNLOAD 9.18.24

Tyce Evins had some trepidation about the ropes course and the zip line but after some encouragement he got back up, had the COURAGE to overcome his concerns, and had a blast on the course while navigating all obstacles.

Paul Ohrel showed KINDNESS for holding the door to help Mrs. Hunt bring in carline signs.

Taylar Gordon, Mia Shook Hedgpeth,  Chimamanda Ndubueze, & Jaiya Crowder, all used TEAMWORK to help fix Mme. Nguyen’s ceiling tiles that were popped open.

CLUB FAIR is  TODAY during Student Life in the QUAD!!

 
Before Club Fair, everyone should have their  CLUB HUB account created.  Follow the instructions in the email Dean Zelaya sent on Monday. This is what you will use to join clubs and receive communication from club leaders. 
 
Club leaders will meet Dean Zelaya in the Quad at 11:15 with their posterboard and supplies.
The rest of the student body should not head to the fair until 11:40 am.

DEANS DAILY DOWNLOAD 9.17.24

Angelina Chen, Sajan Patel, Naya Thakkar, and Gabe Zelaya all demonstrated RESPECT and COURAGE by setting a great example of how to use The ARC for the Class of 2028. Thank you for being role models!

Thanks to Chimmy Ndubueze for her KINDNESS in calling the teacher’s attention to a student who’d been raising their hand forever.

Thanks to Nate Freidinger for his KINDNESS in escorting a sick student to the nurse.

Hailey Safranek showed KINDNESS when she helped a teacher arrange desks for another class and provided some helpful suggestions about how to best set up the desks.

Dalton Mattsson displayed KINDNESS by holding the door open for many classmates coming into the CPAC, despite the pouring rain. Thank you Dalton!

Case of the Mondays - Underscore Recordings

Congratulations to our first students of the year showing up COURAGEously to the writing center: Skyler Thurman, Shawn Kennedy, Trent Loggins, and Yana Kramer!

Lucas Cahill showed KINDNESS when he helped Mrs. Hunt pull the signs in at the end of the day.

Alayna Poole showed KINDNESS  by helping a freshman print his paper for English class. Thank you, Alayna!

Kinton Surface demonstrated PASSION for English and rhetorical analysis in particular when he helped another classmate re-focus his attention. You’re going to soar in this class!

Nicolas Fernandez demonstrated COURAGE when he shared his work with his class to be critiqued. Way to go Nicolas!

Max Dry has earned a Core Value for RESPECT. He continues to show up for himself, asks questions, and works towards growth in his English class.

Isaac Taylor and Gabe Sacks had TEAMWORK on full display as they delivered and returned the push-up board for Friday’s football game. Thanks, fellas!

Linden Sonnefeld, Addison Maynor, and Victoria Marion all demonstrated COURAGE when they sought out Dean Zelaya to ask questions to gain a better understanding of something. Way to be great self-advocates!!

Aaron Ward showed KINDNESS when he helped a student getting around on crutches.

Avari Hedgepeth showed KINDNESS when she helped a fellow student by sending a PDF of the ATUS history book while the student is stuck at home. WTG!

Elizabeth Booker demonstrated KINDNESS when she volunteered to stay back and hold the door open for students entering the Gossage Bldg. Thanks, Elizabeth!

Richelle Syer demonstrated extreme KINDNESS and a great deal of physical strength when she volunteered to give a student on crutches a piggy- back ride across the Bryant Central Green  💪🏼

Olivia McLaughlin demonstrated KINDNESS (and a great deal of common sense!) when she opened up a second door to the Gossage Bldg. to alleviate a bottleneck so her fellow classmates could get to class on time. Thanks, Olivia!

Madikay Ndiaye, Maddock Griffin, Jack Nelin, and Brandon Wong all showed COURAGE when they volunteered for on- the- spot speaking roles for speeches in AT US History. Woo hoo!

Rubio’s room). This meeting will be conducted by a representative from TECHO, our partner organization, via Zoom. You will get to hear all the details about the experience and to ask any questions you may have. The Building Trip will take place from January 6th to January 11th, 2025 (Winterm).

We will have a brief meeting on Monday, September 9th during lunch (11:00 am to 11:30) in the library annex to discuss the following conferences:

  • UNC Charlotte Carolina Conference- October 25-27, 2024
  • App State MUN- Wednesday, November 13, 2024
  • CHARMUN- December 7, 2024
  • UNC Chapel Hill- February 28-March 2, 2025

Kendyl Majors showed INTEGRITY when she discovered a lost phone and returned it to Dean Booker.

Logan Zaborski and Pratyush Siva came to the aid of their peers who needed help navigating printing extensions and protocols. Thanks for your TEAMWORK!!! 

Eli Gargagliano demonstrated KINDNESS when he volunteered to buy a friend an extra piece of naan bread from the cafeteria yesterday when it mysteriously disappeared from said friend’s plate.  What a great guy, thanks Eli!!
