Public Proclamations:

The Spectrum Advisory Board will be hosting our first panel discussion in light of Hispanic Heritage month. Hispanic Americans within the Cannon School community will be sharing their personal experiences about being Hispanic in the USA.  Come out and support these individuals while they share a personal perspective.  We will meet during lunch on Thursday, Oct. 8th in Foundation Hall.  See Dean Zelaya if you have any questions.

Seniors: TODAY during student life, please report to Foundation Hall at 12:05 to hear about possible senior gift ideas. Once the senior committee has revealed its ideas, you will be dismissed back to your advisory for academic advising. Thanks.

October 11 is National Coming Out Day, a day for LGBTQIA+ people across America to embrace who they really are and come out to their friends and family. To honor this day, the GSA is making Thursday, October 8, a t-shirt day for anyone who would like to wear PURPLE to show their support for Cannon’s LGBTQIA+ community. We hope to see you sporting purple!

Ms. Eury’s ELP class is hosting a voter registration for anyone who will be 18 or older by November 3, 2015, Please register to vote during lunch!!! You will need your driver’s license number or the last 4 digits of your social security number.

All welcome- The EMPOWER! Club: A chapter of the National SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) will meet TODAY during Student Choice, 1:05-1:30, in the Academic Center (room 610) . Come find out about this semester’s activities and available class representative leadership positions. There will be snacks!

Vocalists needed– Mr. Davis is looking for students who might be interested in recording vocals for his students’ Music Tech projects. They are currently doing cover versions of pop tunes. Wanna sing some Radiohead, Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Coldplay? Then come in and lay down a track for us. Each brave vocalist will earn a core value! Eight participants are needed to represent Cannon School at the upcoming Academic WorldQuest Competition scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th.  AWQ is a trivia competition consisting of questions focusing on contemporary politics, geography, and world history.  Participants will have dinner provided before the competition begins.  The highlight of the evening is having WCNC’s weatherman Larry Sprinkle serve as the moderator. Interested students should contact Mr. Kmidowski for more information.

Eight participants are needed to represent Cannon School at the upcoming Academic WorldQuest Competition scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th.  AWQ is a trivia competition consisting of questions focusing on contemporary politics, geography, and world history.  Participants will have dinner provided before the competition begins.  The highlight of the evening is having WCNC’s weatherman Larry Sprinkle serve as the moderator. Volunteers needed for BTB Soccer for Tots! Come outside and play with the Jr K soccer kids on Mondays from 1:15 – 2:10 p.m. Volunteer for one or more dates: 9/28, 10/5, 10/19, 10/26, and 11/2. Email Mrs. Brashear at mbrashear@cannonschool.org.
