Attention all Juniors: There will be a meeting for any interested junior who would like to join the prom committee TODAY, January 20th during student choice in Ms. Eury’s room.

Starting this Week: COMPOSTING in the cafeteria! Composting is using biodegradable materials to build new soil and keep waste out of the landfill. Starting this week we have three bins in the cafeteria: 

  1. Recycling 
  2. Trash (landfill)
  3. Compost. 

The compost bins can handle ALL food waste (including meat and bones) as well as the cafeteria brown paper plates. Please throw all other trash into the trash container, and recyclables into the recycle bin. PLEASE pay attention to avoid cross contaminating the bins! Thanks for helping to make our waste-reduction at Cannon a success, and making Cannon a little greener.

The course runs from January 23 through February 27, meeting select Saturdays and Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. Pre-registration is required.

Camp Cannon is now accepting applications for Jr. Counselor positions for the summer of 2016. Applications can be found in the US office and must be returned to the Enrichment Office no later than January 22nd.

Austin Cindric and Cole Rasenberger spoke today in MS Community Meeting about being a #GameChanger. Nice show of PASSION!

Donate books!!!   Between January 11th and April 29th, in the Atrium and in front of Foundation Hall, there will be labeled boxes for book donations. Bring in books and place them in the box. It’s that easy! The books will be sent to Books For Africa and the Cabarrus Literacy Council. With your help, we can bring the number of illiterate people down!(Questions? Email Daphne or Caitlyn at dreynolds@cannonschool.org or ckunkle@cannonschool.org)

 Public Proclamations:

Final girls Upper School interest meeting for spring 2016 SOCCER will be Wednesday, January 13 at 11:40am in the Library Annex.  Please bring your lunch if necessary.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students considering participating in Track and Field this spring.  We will meet TODAY 1/13 during student choice (9:50 – 10:15) in room 609.  If you are even considering being on the team, please come so that we can get you necessary information and uniform sizing taken care of for any new athletes.  If you absolutely cannot make it to the meeting, please see coach Campbell as soon as possible.

There will be a brief meeting TODAY, January 13 at 11:15 am in the Community Room of the Middle School (No food is allowed) for all students interested in playing lacrosse this spring.  Please meet Coach Schattner for important information regarding the lacrosse season.
