Hi Cannon Friends,
This year, for my capstone, I have chosen to create a team for the Kannapolis Walk for Multiple Sclerosis. As you may or may not know, my mom has MS, and I would like to support her and all other people who are battling this disease.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body function, and has incredibly different impacts on all types of people ranging from children to adults which makes it difficult to manage, treat, and research. I have participated in the MS walk for 9 years now, and each year have learned more and raised a lot of funding through a great network of our friends and family in support of Sandy, my mom. The team I created this year is named “Cannon for the Cure“, and my goal is to raise awareness, money, and get a record number of walkers to support my mom and all the people who are fighting MS.
The walk date is April 9th, and registration starts at 9 a.m. with the walk beginning at 10 a.m. at the NC research Campus, Murdock building(150 N. Research Dr.). The walk is free and it is just a great time to get out and show the incredible spirit of Cannon School! If you are unable to attend, and still would consider a donation, that would be very much appreciated, of course no pressure at all. Here is the link to sign up to walk, or to donate! http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/NCTWalkEvents?px=3152208&pg=personal&fr_id=27204
Thank you all very much for your support of my capstone! I hope we can all one day soon live in a world free of Multiple Sclerosis, and I hope to see you April 9th!
