WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 26TH is Movie In The Quad!!!! It is the night before House Games so you won’t have any homework :). Last year we had over 100 people attend so this year let’s make it 200! We will be showing Pitch Perfect as the movie this year. There will be all you can eat pizza for a small price of a $5. Come dressed up to enter the Costume Contest and win a Chick-Fil-A  gift card! We will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. You can enter alone or as a group! The event will take place in the outside cafeteria with heaters. Bring blankets and pillows! There will be candy and popcorn since it is close to Halloween. If you are interested in entering the costume contest, then see the rules below: 

Halloween is coming up quickly, and House Animus wants to make sure that our armed forces can get some treats too. The House is teaming up with Operation Gratitude in their Candy Buyback program  to collect any leftover candy you may have from Halloween (including chocolate, but no Pixy Stix please) and unused dental hygiene products. There will be collection boxes at the front and back entrances to the school  for everyone and one for teachers in the teacher workroom. All donations will be accepted until November 11 (Veterans Day). Cougars On-Site Workshop: Friday, October, 28^th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Cannon School College Counseling will host a workshop for Juniors focused on developing the skills necessary to secure a summer job, internship or job shadowing experience.  An overview will be given on topics of decision making, cover letter and resume writing, interviewing and networking. Juniors must register by October 24^th to attend, space is limited.  Email Kristin McClanahan at kmcclanahan@cannonschool.org to secure your spot.  Cougars On-Site will also be offered as a 4-day Winterm Course in January.  The course will be more in-depth than the workshop.  Students who complete the Winterm course will have a finished resume and cover letter, have experienced a mock interview, participated in an etiquette lunch and developed a networking contact list. More information will be released soon on how to register for Winterm courses.

House Leadership meeting TODAY in Foundation Hall @ lunch.

The varsity soccer team will play Charlotte Latin School in the 2^nd round of the NCISAA Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 4:15 pm on the stadium field at Cannon School.  Admission will be charge in accordance with the NCISAA policy of $ 7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, children under the age of 8 are admitted for free.

National Arts Honor Society will meet TODAY at 11:30 in the US Art Studio. All visual (media and studio) art students are welcome, even if you were unable to make the last meeting. We will be voting for officers and choosing service projects for the year. Treats will be provided.

Cougars On-Site Workshop: Friday, October, 28^th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Cannon School College Counseling will host a workshop for Juniors focused on developing the skills necessary to secure a summer job, internship or job shadowing experience.  An overview will be given on topics of decision making, cover letter and resume writing, interviewing and networking. Juniors must register by October 24^th to attend, space is limited.  Email Kristin McClanahan at kmcclanahan@cannonschool.org to secure your spot.  Cougars On-Site will also be offered as a 4-day Winterm Course in January.  The course will be more in-depth than the workshop.  Students who complete the Winterm course will have a finished resume and cover letter, have experienced a mock interview, participated in an etiquette lunch and developed a networking contact list. More information will be released soon on how to register for Winterm courses.

MS Student Council will be holding a Krispy Kreme donut sale until Tuesday of this week. They will have a table set up outside during lunch from 11:20-12:50 where students can order donuts. Plain glazed and chocolate glazed donuts will be available for $8 a dozen and will be delivered during lunch on Friday, October 21st. (If students ask, they would pay $8/dozen if they bought directly from a Krispy Kreme store.) Students must pay when they place their order.

MS Student Council will be holding a Krispy Kreme donut sale from Thursday of this week through Tuesday of next week. They will have a table set up outside during lunch from 11:20-12:50 where students can order donuts. Plain glazed and chocolate glazed donuts will be available for $8 a dozen and will be delivered during lunch on Friday, October 21st. (If students ask, they would pay $8/dozen if they bought directly from a Krispy Kreme store.) Students must pay when they place their order.

Cougars On-Site Workshop: Friday, October, 28^th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Cannon School College Counseling will host a workshop for Juniors focused on developing the skills necessary to secure a summer job, internship or job shadowing experience.  An overview will be given on topics of decision making, cover letter and resume writing, interviewing and networking. Juniors must register by October 24^th to attend, space is limited.  Email Kristin McClanahan at kmcclanahan@cannonschool.org to secure your spot.  Cougars On-Site will also be offered as a 4-day Winterm Course in January.  The course will be more in-depth than the workshop.  Students who complete the Winterm course will have a finished resume and cover letter, have experienced a mock interview, participated in an etiquette lunch and developed a networking contact list. More information will be released soon on how to register for Winterm courses.

Logan Gray and Christal Walker showed TEAMWORK by helping Mr. Davis move gear to build the stage for Upper School Night of Music.

I want to thank Parker Cain, Tamer Metwalli, Grayson Herrera, Hayden Bullard, and Jack Reimer for the TEAMWORK they showed to setup for the Night of Music. Events in the Quad are not an easy task anyway. To provide a large event at night in the Quad is an undertaking. With their help, they allowed the time and effort to pull equipment from all parts of the school to go above and beyond what has been done before. It was also very nice to see them work using the skills they have learned over time. This allowed for us to build a performance environment that sounded and looked great. The event turned out to be very special for a lot of guests. They had a direct impact on making this event special.
