On Friday November 10, 2017, we will be hosting a “school day” Open House.  Prospective grades 1-12 parents and students will be on campus from 8:45a.m.-12:00p.m.  We are expecting approximately 60 visitors.  Our guests will enjoy breakfast in the Dining Hall followed by breakout sessions with Division Heads, classroom visits and opportunities to engage with students, faculty, parents and alumni.  Please be sure to say hello to our guests on Friday!  We appreciate your understanding that due to this event the Dining hall will be closed from 8:45-10:00a.m.

Questions? – Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Diskin or Mrs. Weinstock.  Thank you for sharing your Cannon spirit with our guests on Friday!

After school make-up will now meet in the Academic Center.  As a reminder, after school make-up session begins at 3:15 pm.

The women’s basketball team is looking for two managers to help this season. Managers are not required to attend practice, but the team needs someone to help film home & away games as well as keep stats. If you have any interest please email Coach Drakeford

Congratulations to Cannon Theater Company for receiving four awards at this weekend’s NCTC Festival for their production of “Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind”: Patrick Dodds for Excellence in Stage Management, Zoë Smith for Outstanding Achievement in Assistant Direction, Mr. Macdonald for Excellence in Directing, and the cast for Excellence in Ensemble Acting. CTC is excited to now bring “Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind” to the Cannon community Thurs Nov 9, Fri Nov 10, and Sat Nov 11 7:00-8:15pm! This high octane 45-minute show had the NCTC audience laughing and occasionally even screaming. And with a high reliance on audience interaction, the show changes with each performance, so come see it more than once!

SENIORS! Tuesday, November 7th, is another drop-in help day. Mrs. McClanahan and Dr. Wilner will be in room 610 – if you have applications still to be submitted this fall, or if you have applications that will need to be submitted for January deadlines, come in and get some work done!

Please join Dean Zelaya in Foundation Hall during lunch on Thursday November 9th to learn more about getting involved in the NewGen Peacebuilders program.  There will be a representative on campus to answer any questions you may have.  Bring your lunch and join us!

WINTERM 2018: We are excited about this year’s Winterm program that is scheduled for Tuesday January 2nd – Friday January 5th, 2018!  Course information and the registration form can be found and downloaded on the Cannon School website at https://www.cannonschool.org/page/academics/upper-school/winterm#.   Registration will take place Monday November 13th, Tuesday November 14th and Wednesday November 15th, 2017.  The registration table will be set up outside the Upper School Office between 7:20 – 8:05 am and between 11:20 am – 12:00 pm each day.  Please make sure that you turn in your form directly at the registration table during one of those scheduled times to ensure that your form is received.  Please do not turn your form in to your advisor or to the office, but only at the registration table.  If you have questions about a specific course please contact the teacher.  If you have questions about registration please contact Mr. Campbell at rcampbell@cannonschool.org.

Cannon Theater Company is excited to open its 2017-18 season with “Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind”, running Thurs Nov 9, Fri Nov 10, and Sat Nov 11 7:00-8:15pm! Still alive and ever-evolving after several years in its New York City and Chicago productions, “Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind” is an ensemble experiment in presenting 30 plays in 60 minutes (though due to the rules of the NCTC High School Play Festival at which we will perform this weekend, our version is 22 plays in 45 minutes). Each two-minute play is performed in random order with an interactive audience. This eclectic collection of comic, dramatic, and just plain wacky plays will add up to an evening of theater unlike anything you’ve experienced

Sophomores— Nov. 10 during Student Life, meet by House in the following locations:
