Sarah Kuo showed PASSION when she worked hard to receive Honors 1st Violin in the Western Regional All State Orchestra auditions last weekend.

Anna Ruth Morrison showed PASSION when she worked hard for Repertory Viola in the Western Regional All State Orchestra auditions last weekend.

Cali Proper Showed PASSION when she worked for Repertory Cello in the Western Regional All State Orchestra auditions.

Joshua Doolittle showed KINDNESS when he held the door open for a teacher who had her hands full.

There is an interest sign-up sheet outside of Mrs. Todd’s room for the foreign language competition at Lenior Rhyne University. Categories include: Poetry, Culture Bee, Extemporaneous Speaking, Skit Performance, and Singing. Winners will receive trophies, certificates, and bragging rights. You must sign-up by Friday, January 26th.

Halfway There is a special night to honor and celebrate our beloved class of 2018 and it is right around the corner on Saturday, Feb. 3rd! This year’s dance is a semi-formal winter ball with the theme “Light the Way.” We hope to have lots of surprises throughout the evening as we celebrate our seniors. Join DJ Phalse iD for a fabulous dance, great desserts, and a night of fun and entertainment!  Seniors will need to plan to arrive by 6:00pm while all others should arrive starting at 7:00pm. Tickets on sale today. Pre-order ticket sales officially end on Tuesday, January 30th because we have to have a final count for food. The tickets are $10 in advance from January 22nd-January 30th and $15 if you are late to purchase including buying tickets at the door. You may get tickets by responding to the Google form that will be sent to your Cannon email account. For your convenience, you may choose to bill your account for the cost of the ticket.

Special note: Out of respect for our community, please refrain from singing uncensored versions of the songs being played by the deejay. See Ms. Eury for more details or if you have any questions!

Are you interested in earning scholarships to help pay for college? Open to 9th-11th grades, this “Lunch & Learn” will give you an overview of various types of scholarships and help you begin to research and prepare to compete for these competitive awards. Join Ms. Mann in Foundation Hall during lunch on Thursday, Jan. 25 to learn how to Compete for Scholarships.

Mr. West demonstrated TEAMWORK and KINDNESS when he covered the Academic Center during his planning period so a colleague could attend a meeting.

Lydia Pinto showed INTEGRITY when she shared that the answers to a quiz were on the board while students were taking the quiz.

Celine Ortiz and Mudi Tokunboh showed KINDNESS when they helped a classmate clean up some hot chocolate spilled by a classmate.

Drivers: Cannon will be hosting a NCAIS event on Wednesday 1/17.  We will have 80 guests on campus.  This will cause some parking adjustments for the day.  Seniors will be parking in Junior Parking, Juniors in Sophomore Parking, etc.  Apologies for any inconvenience.
