This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a driver education program during the spring semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/).  WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday – Friday, April 1^st – 12th in Foundation Hall from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours. The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.

Students for Constitutional Government will meet for lunch on Thursday, January 24th in Foundation Hall. We will be discussing American citizenship as it relates to the immigration debate. Grab some lunch and stop by!

College counseling will be hosting the Lunch & Learn session, “Intro to Military and Service Academies,” on Thursday, January 24^th, in Foundation Hall. Students interested in learning about these opportunities and the application processes for the academies are invited to attend.

Model UN members: ALL team members interested in going to our conference at UNC Chapel Hill in February should attend an initial planning meeting on Tuesday, Jan 22!  (That means everyone—even if you are not going to JHUMUNC!) NAHS Meeting Friday at Lunch! There will be a National Art Honor Society Meeting this Friday at Lunch in the US Art Room. We’ll be planning and signing up for the service projects happening later this month. Looking forward to seeing all members and prospective members there!
