***Congratulations to Cannon Theater Company for a successful performance of “Puffs” at the North Carolina Theater Festival! Adjudicators praised the cast’s precision comic timing and pacing, character specificity, ensemble work, and dynamic stage pictures. The crew was praised for the multiple technical surprises built into the show; Alex Fox as Stage Manager and Viktor Henry as Light Board Operator received special commendations for their leadership. Come see “Puffs” at Cannon Nov 10, 11, or 12 at 7:00pm! The Theater In Performance class will be performing two additional short one-act plays that evening – “Cicada Shells” and “The Ladder.” Friendly reminder that the Academic Coaching room (606) is a quiet academic space during drops, Office Hours, and before or after school. We welcome those looking for a conducive, productive academic work environment to use 606 for individual or small group work. Please refrain from engaging in video games, non-academic video watching, or boisterous social conversation while in this space. THANK YOU! AP/AT Exam Registration will close TOMORROW (Tuesday, November 1). If you haven’t already done so, you must indicate your exam decisions for each of your AP/AT courses by logging into your College Board account. Please contact Mrs. Kulp (jkulp@cannonschool.org) ASAP if you have questions. Interested in supporting suicide prevention? Join the IM FINE club in Charlotte on Saturday, November 5th for the American Suicide Prevention Foundation’s Out of the Darkness walk! Register Here! For those interested in working with Lower School students, here is a collection of opportunities for you! These include joining third and fourth graders at recess (they always need a good referee), AE day passion class assistant, and more. This is a working document, and we will be adding more items as the needs arise. Be sure to check back often! You can sign up for as many activities as you would like. **Note: Only sign up for activities that fall during your drop periods or non-classroom times. For special events, you need to ask for permission from teachers if you will miss class. Our most immediate need is for AE Day on November 18. We need several volunteers to help assist teachers in passion classes from 9:30-11ish. Please reach out to Dean Fox (mfox@cannonschool.org) if you have any questions. |
