Fall 2021 Driver Education Program (Virtual)

This year, Cannon School has contracted with a local company to offer a virtual driver education program during the fall semester. Classes and behind-the-wheel instruction will be provided by WatsOnWheels (https://www.watsonwheelsnc.com/). WatsOnWheels has agreed to offer Cannon students a discount and provide the course for $350 per student.  The classes will be held Monday, November 8th through Friday, November 19th from 4:00 – 7:00.

Students must be 14½ years of age when the classes begin to be eligible to register. To complete the class, students must have thirty hours of class time and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.  We hope to offer another class in the spring through WatsOnWheels, but we have yet to schedule specific dates.

After the class portion is complete, the instructor will coordinate with students individually to complete the behind-the-wheel requirements during their school drop periods or after school hours.

The $350 fee is due on the first day of class and may be charged to the student’s Cannon School account or paid in the form of a check made out to “Watson Wheels LLC”.

Attention Freshmen and Sophomores, the Admission Office at Cannon needs you! We are excited to begin welcoming prospective students to spend the day on campus again.   Hosts are needed to help ensure a great visit day.  Hosts are expected to take their visitor to classes, lunch, and clubs, introduce them to friends, and make them feel welcome at Cannon. Visitors will spend all or part of the day with the host.  If you’d like to host, please complete this survey. Keep in mind that students are asked to host via email, if you choose to volunteer, please ensure that you check email on a regular basis.
