Academic Coaching at Cannon (ACC) opens Monday, September 21, in Room 606.  Our Academic Coaching team is comprised of Mrs. Weakland, Mr. Smith, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Calles, and Mrs. Holston. ACC is designed to support YOU in the way YOU choose!  YOU control all aspects of your experience: date and time of appointment, frequency of appointments (3x is recommended!), and the content of appointment.

***TRACK TUESDAY- Together Apart!***

Everyone is invited to socially distance on the track every (During Office Hours 12:30-1:30) Tuesday. Walk, talk, hang out, and soak up the sun. Just 20 minutes of walking a day is reported to improve: Mood, Energy & Memory and much more! Just being outdoors and getting sunshine can do a lot to improve your mood and energy levels! Hey Everyone! I am Eliott Diskin and I am working on a project to recycle the lunch containers that our school is using this year. I am looking for people who would be interested in helping me collect the containers during office hours. I especially need help from someone in Maroon week. The containers will be washed and donated to Envision Charlotte who will recycle them into face shields for healthcare workers. If you’re interested, please email me at ediskin@cannonschool.org

The sign up for Science Olympiad is officially out! Science Olympiad is a STEM competition in which teams of two compete in events ranging from anatomy to forensics to geology. You are invited to submit your work to “The Ink,” Cannon’s literary arts magazine. We are looking for poetry, prose, short fiction, essays, photography, drawings, prints, illustrations, photography, paintings, graphic design/digital artwork, multimedia work, and digital recordings of performances. Check your email for instructions, and you can find a copy of last year’s edition in any English classroom and the English office. Submission deadline is September 25.
