Andrew Andujar showed INTEGRITY by writing a great email to his teacher explaining the reason for his absence and getting all the course work from a peer.

Noelle Nieske showed PASSION and COURAGE by enduring long practices daily, filming herself doing dance routines for virtual try-outs, and ultimately earning one of four “rookie” spots (out of approx. 90 competitors!) on the James Madison University Dukette’s (dance team)!  Way to go, Noelle!  We are so proud of you!

***MUG CAKE by Olivia Olson ’22

The recipe I use has almond flour (which most people don’t have in their houses), but there are a lot of recipes on the internet for almost any flavor imaginable. They are easy to make and clean up, are delicious, and don’t use any ingredients you don’t already have in your house. My go-to is an addition of cinnamon to this chocolate paleo mug cake recipe (gluten and dairy free):

The Peer Support Team Wants to Know,

How are you taking care?

HAMMOCK HAMMOCKING: pst; member, Jackson Hammock ‘21, relaxing outdoors!

Relaxing, being outdoors, and having a positive attitude are great ways to Take Care! Doing “nothing” is a big SOMETHING when it comes to wellness.

Students: Send a photo of yourself Taking Care to pst; advisors: or

Cannon Spring Invitational Overwatch Tournament

What: During these unprecedented times, electronic gaming presents an opportunity to unite Cannon School students and give the Cannon community something to support and look forward to.

An eSports tournament hosted by Cannon and powered by LocalLive will stream eSports matches, providing students positive interaction with one another. Students will compete in 6v6 matches within Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment’s award-winning team-based action game, and a flagship title within the global eSports scene. Players select from a roster of over 30 in-game characters known as “heroes,” each with unique strategies and play styles. Each team of six players must work to secure or defend various map-based objectives, using teamwork, strategy, and individual skill to outsmart and overpower the opposing team.

The tournament will be restricted to Upper School teams. We are planning to partner with LocalLive, who will stream and narrate the matches for an online audience. The Cannon Technology team would organize and run the tournament.

Where: Online

When: TBD (Potentially the weekend of May 16-17)

Students who are interested in playing Overwatch or any eSports please reach out to Mr. Tran at
