ADVISORY AGENDA 11.15.18

“You know, my motto is ‘Excelsior.’ That’s an old word that means ‘upward and onward to greater glory.’ It’s on the seal of the state of New York. Keep moving forward, and if it’s time to go, it’s time. Nothing lasts forever.” – Stan Lee

Kudos to the Mattsson Advisory for having the COURAGE & PASSION to constantly remind the thoughtless and forgetful Dean Booker of the necessity to celebrate the spectacular life of Stan Lee.  Onward and Upward to you! You girls rock!!!!

Hannah Shiffert, Megan McKinsey, Hayes Leatherman, Charlie Barr, Caroline Carr, Abby Wilner, Liselotte Stratman, Collier Leatherman, Alex Varghese, Mattea Williams and Ja’Vonte Bowden demonstrated PASSION when they helped the Search Committee interview a few college counseling candidates.

Lydia Pinto demonstrated INTEGRITY for her interactions with parents of the newly formed Eye to Eye group.  I’m so grateful for the maturity with which she communicates and emails with our families.  Congratulations!

A core value of PASSION to both Lydia Pinto and Will Zandhuis for their leadership in establishing an Eye to Eye chapter at Cannon and helping our middle school friends become empowered self-advocates in their learning.  True Cannon Spirit!!

On Friday, November 16th during lunch (11:15am to 12pm), History Club will be screening “Beyond the Bridge of No Return,” a film that regards the Korean War. The screening will occur in Mrs. Huffman’s room. Please grab lunch and come enjoy!

If you have items in LOST & FOUND, please get them this week.  Otherwise, everything will be donated to charity on Friday at 3:05pm. Lost & Found is located in the Upper School Commons.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Family Connection to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School.  Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event.
