The Cannon Upper School Paper (CUSP) will have a general interest meeting on Friday, August 24th during Student Choice in room 703. Come out and learn about contributing to your student-run newspaper!
Seniors: The College Counseling Team will offer Drop – In Hours for Seniors in The Cube on the following dates: 9/18, 10/3, and 11/7.
(Please make note of this change in your planner) There will also be a College Application Workshop on 10/10 from 9 – 11:15 a.m. in the CPAC

US Students: The Testing Center will open TODAY, AUGUST 22 in Room 604. This 100% quiet space is used for completing a missed assessment or any assessment requiring the testing accommodation of separate setting. This space may also be used for personal general study time. The Testing Center is proctored every block, every day.
Please know that IF YOU ARE COMPLETING A MISSED ASSESSMENT, you must arrive in the first 5 minutes of a block time. If you do so later than that, you will not be allowed to enter. This minimizes the number of interruptions for those in the Testing Center due to the opening and closing of the door.
Please be mindful of noise levels directly outside the Testing Center, and do not enter or use the Testing Center without a proctor present.
Student Ambassador Network
The Student Ambassador Network (“SAN”) is a group of Upper School students who represent Cannon School and demonstrate Cannon’s core values in their academic, athletic and artistic pursuits, both on campus and in their communities. All Cannon Upper School students are invited to be active Cannon student ambassadors. To get involved all you have to do is complete the Student Ambassador Profile (an 8-10 minute Survey) so we are better informed about you and your interests! Please complete the profile by Friday, August 31.

There will be an meeting of all students interested in playing women’s basketball on TODAY, August 23rd at 11:15 am in the Private Dining Room. Please meet Coach Drakeford at this time if you have an interest in playing this year.
Seniors: Park (NC State) , Bryan (Davidson College), Levine (UNCC) and Morehead-Cain Scholarships (UNC) forms are due August 27th if you are interested in being considered for the Cannon School nomination. Your materials must be submitted by 3 p.m. on 8/27/18 to Dr. Wilner (bwilner@cannonschool.org). (No late submissions will be accepted) Additional information is available on the College Counseling Power School page or through your college counselor.

8/27: University of Notre Dame, the University of Virginia, Washington University in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins, and Emory University will host an evening program. Register to attend. 7-9 p.m. Charlotte Country Day School, 1440 Carmel Rd.
9/16: Carnegie Mellon University will host an afternoon program. Register to attend. 2 – 3 p.m. Charlotte Marriott SouthPark, 2200 Rexford Rd.
9/26: Tulane University will host an evening program. Register to attend. 7 – 8:30 p.m. Providence Day School, 5800 Sardis Rd.
Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Family Connection to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School. Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event. Log into your Family Connection account to learn more about the colleges, find out visit times and register to attend. Visits will be held in The Cube or College Counseling Offices.
