This Thursday March 8th we will be offering a $5 dollar dress down. The money raised will be going to an organization called Kangaroo Kids that provides medical notebooks called “pouches” to families who are facing a medical diagnosis. These pouches keep track of discharge papers, infusion info, medications, etc. Each pouch costs around $50 to assemble and $15 to mail to families. House Integritas will be collecting $5 dollars every morning during advisory.

Maya Campbell and Katie Hendry will be hosting a night of music called Music for a Cause on Friday, March 9th from 6:30-8:00 pm. Performers include the Varsity Chorus, Elena Jacoby, Carter Jones, and many more! There will also be baked goods and other goodies available during the intermission! The entry fee is 5 dollars, or the equivalent in donations. It is for a great cause: helping to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault! We are working with Safe Alliance, a Charlotte organization! If you want to learn more, or have any questions, please contact mscampbell@cannonschool.org or khendry@cannonschool.org!

REMINDER: Completed Course Recommendation & Selection Forms are due in Advisory this Friday, March 9th.

Did you know that there are microscopic mites living on YOUR face? Demodex mites live out their entire lives in the pores of humans and other mammals. Even though humans all over the globe are hosts to these tiny hitchhikers, scientists know very little about face mites. Students in Ecology and Field Biology class explored the relationships that Demodex mites have with some of the students at Cannon School. As a part of our research, we sampled the pores of 30 volunteer students. We are excited to share the results of our experiment with you in our first edition of, “Notes from the Field.”

Please email a high resolution club picture to: mzelaya@cannonschool.org if you wish for your club to be included in the yearbook. Please do this by Friday, March 9th
