Seniors interested in applying for any one of the following scholarships, must submit his/her scholarship applications to Ms. Mann no later than Oct. 19th at 3:30 pm.
– Centennial Scholarship (NCSU)
Juniors-– North Carolina Governor’s School applications are due to Ms. Mann by Oct. 19 at 3:30 pm.
Sophomores—If you are interested in being nominated to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar, please contact Ms. Mann. Applications (which will include a brief essay and resume) for nomination consideration will be due no later than Oct. 19 at 3:30 pm.
Cougars On-Site Workshop: Friday, October, 28th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Cannon School College Counseling will host a workshop for Juniors focused on developing the skills necessary to secure a summer job, internship or job shadowing experience. An overview will be given on topics of decision making, cover letter and resume writing, interviewing and networking. Juniors must register by October 24th to attend, space is limited. Email Kristin McClanahan at kmcclanahan@cannonschool.org to secure your spot. Cougars On-Site will also be offered as a 4-day Winterm Course in January. The course will be more in-depth than the workshop. Students who complete the Winterm course will have a finished resume and cover letter, have experienced a mock interview, participated in an etiquette lunch and developed a networking contact list. More information will be released soon on how to register for Winterm courses.
