One thing in particular – the ability to go see live music! Mr. Kmidowski and Mr. Davis want to help rebalance that scale by inviting you all to join us during lunch TUESDAYS to watch a live music concert on the big screen. ***Cannon Theater Company’s filmed productions of “She Kills Monsters” and “Club Mojito” stream this week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00pm! Go to www.cannonschool.org/theater to pick a night and get the streaming link. Per copyright guidelines, the streams will only be available from 8:00-11:00pm each night. “She Kills Monsters” is the story of Agnes, a high school cheerleader who finds her younger sister Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook a year after Tilly’s death, leading Agnes into a fast-moving adventure that is both funny and moving. Scenes take place at Agnes’s high school, in the imaginary lands of the D&D world, and in online Discord conversations. In “Club Mojito”, eight friends about to graduate from college gather on the roof of their apartment building to celebrate one last night before the next chapter of life begins. Can their friendships survive a fateful visit from the pizza guy and the revelations that follow?

***Show some spirit!! Let’s celebrate our Girls’ Volleyball team. Their bus will be departing at 1PM on Saturday.  We are inviting students to park along the wall on Education Way remaining in their cars to cheer on our state finalists. Please plan to arrive at 12:50.

***The Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team will be playing in the NCISAA State Championship game versus North Raleigh Christian School on Saturday, November 7th at 5 PM. We will be cheering them on from Concord.

***Maybe you’ve seen the little groups of Upper School kids outside after school, lugging camera equipment around campus or dressed like they’re headed for Comic Con. For two months, Cannon Theater Company has been hard at work filming two one-act plays – “She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen and “Club Mojito” by Richard Dressler – and we’re excited to share them with you next week! The two films will stream back to back at 8pm on Nov 12, 13, and 14. Go to www.cannonschool.org/theater for details on the stories, how to watch, and a note for families on why we’re calling these shows “PG-13.” I’ve been amazed to watch these kids adapt to brand new circumstances, venturing into the unknown in order to gain something invaluable (which is also what these plays are about.) I hope you can watch their work!
