Fiona Chen, Charlotte Holliway, and Nadia Ristich demonstrated INTEGRITY when they alerted their teacher she was revealing quiz questions to students who weren’t taking it yet. Way to go!

Owen Koehler demonstrated KINDNESS when he volunteered to take the bucket of sheep brains to the dumpster for the biology class.

Sophia Segura demonstrated KINDNESS and RESPECT when she dried off a desk for a classmate. Way to go, Sophia!

Faith Carpenter is an unsung pillar of our classroom because of the passion she brings to everything she does. Her deep reading of Frankenstein’s final chapters has been epic.

Fiona Chen has showed great passion during our Frankenstein unit, being fully committed to each day even when remote.

Melissa Remmey is going above and beyond generating ideas for her Frankenstein essay. She’s been passionate about this whole idea-generating process.

Marques Walker showed PASSION and COURAGE in APES class when he freestyle rapped about Belly Button Bacteria during our Ecosystem Biodiversity experiment!

This week’s schedule:

I am dedicating my spring lacrosse season to the Jason Foundation.  This past year, my sibling lost his best friend to suicide, and many of my close friends grew up with him.  Upon hearing this news, I was compelled to try and make a change and help people who go through these mental challenges.

The Jason Foundation focuses on the prevention of the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide. They offer educational and awareness programs for young people, educators, and parents with tools and resources to help and identify these situations.

I have created a GoFundMe and 100% of all donations will go to the Jason Foundation.  Look for information on upcoming fundraisers soon too.

Thank you for the support.  It means so much to many people around the world and me!!

Big shout out to Gabby Polsky displaying PASSION as she so diligently and effectively communicated Animus events to everyone as PR rep.

Natalie Ray has showed great integrity and dedication to Spanish during her Upper School career. Even if she is absent, she makes sure to complete her work honorably and jump right back in to what we are learning!

Reilly Smith, displaying PASSION, has continued to put forth 110% to his Spanish studies, and has made huge leaps in his proficiency. Thanks for taking risks in the classroom and modeling what it means to set goals and reach them.

Austin Swartz and Greg Watson extended KINDNESS to their teacher when they got breakfast for her on a day she forgot to eat.

Bernard Boon demonstrated RESPECT and KINDNESS when he held multiple doors for a slow moving teacher during the fire drill. Thank you, Bernard!

Way to go Robert Burlington! Thanks for showing PASSION and reminding our AP class what an advanced level Spanish e-mail should look like. Thanks for your hard work in this class.

Shout out to Liv Calabrase, showing PASSION, for showing up to advisory & student life, even if she’s remote and/or traveling. Even if your schedule is crazy, you still have a smile on your face and make us all laugh with your fun sense of humor!

Bella Edmonston – you are such a role model when it comes to leading with passion and maturity. Thanks for all of your hard work motivating House Animus and our advisory.

Amelia Ferris displayed KINDNESS when she took the time this week to personally congratulate a fellow peer on the wonderful work they did on a Lunch & Learn poster. Way to support, encourage, and lift another young lady! That’s what community is all about.

Izzie Gosling has demonstrated amazing empathy and KINDNESS for others both at Cannon and in the community. Just this month, she made sure a fellow advisee was included in a group picture, and retook the photo!

Thank you to Hayes Leatherman who has continued to show amazing dedication and PASSION to his Spanish studies. You are a collaborative and hard-working student!

Hello Everybody!

Happy Black History Month! Over the Summer, Alicia Equan and I (Roshni Desai) did a program called Girls Who Code where we learned the basics of coding. One of our assignments was to create a website that talks about a social issue we care about. We decided to talk about racial injustices however, over the course of the year we have edited our website so that it can be shared with the Cannon Community during Black History Month. During advisory, we would love for you to visit our website and learn more about black excellence in different professions. As well as the personal experiences of each interviewee. We will be adding a new page to the site each week of black history month so, make sure to check back on it!

To note: the formatting for the website is not suitable for phones or tablets! We are still working on that 🙂

Here is the Link: https://bhm-website.glitch.me

To note: the formatting for the website is not suitable for phones or tablets! We are still working on that 🙂
