The bravery of American citizens and uniformed personnel in the face of one of the world’s most terrible terrorist attacks is remembered on Patriot Day on September 11 each year.

Patriot Day gives all of us time to reflect on the devastating terror attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives. We commemorate those who we lost and give thanks to the brave first responders who put their lives on the line.

As an Upper School community, we will take a moment of silence at 8:46 am today to remember the lives lost and consider what we stand for as a nation and how we can work together to make the world a better place for all.

Kudos to Catherine Turner, Victor Lopez, Lucy Way, Sana Pandey, Nicole Ratterman, Kierra Morrow, Kayce Campurciani, Aliza Anderson, Lauren Hollar, Maddie Sturgill, Andi Evans, Olivia McLaughlin, Hailey Safranek, Molly Reiss, Cole Frei, Caroline Cain and Brya Scott displayed TEAMWORK and KINDNESS as they picked up trash from the student section after Friday night’s football game. Many thanks to you all!!!

Caroline Cain and Merrick Rice showed KINDNESS when they volunteered to help Ms. Fisher rearrange her classroom furniture during Office Hours. (2 CVs in 1 day for Caroline!!)

Shout out to Catherine Turner and Lauren Hollar for their COURAGE in trying to hype up the student section during the third quarter of Friday night’s game. (2 CVs in 1 day for both of you!)

Caden Elnaggar demonstrated PASSION for Macbeth when he encouraged his group to keep going in their difficult quotation analysis. Way to go, Caden!

Carter Cassidy showed COURAGE when he stood up to a peer and held him accountable for his decision to park in Senior parking. Thanks for being an upstander and for defending our culture of respect and integrity in our community, Carter!

Matthew Sancho- Joseph demonstrated RESPECT when he backtracked to hold a door open for a teacher! Thank you, Matthew!! (CV #3 for Matthew!)
