 HOUSE ANIMUS

Congratulations to our great Spanish club members: Annalise Leck, KG Smith, Ada Hicks, Marina Rodriguez, Ritika Myana, Grace Hurtado, Aashvi Shah, Maya Del Cid, Maddie Freeze, Ludovica Incalza, Bernice Ngana, Shriya Kovvali, and Lucas Guilfoyle who showcased their talents at Arts Jam by giving presentations about Hispanic artists and / or contributing to the first edition of El Periódico! Your PASSION and TEAMWORK shine brightly, setting a fantastic example. Buen trabajo!

Often during rehearsal instruments go out of tune or need minor repairs. Claire Northrup consistently volunteers to help. She tuned all the cellos at our Carowinds competition and has come to the rescue several times throughout the school year. Thank you for your TEAMWORK, Claire!

In Varsity Orchestra we need to set up chairs and stands and then put them away at the end of class. Tyler Donia always volunteers to help and encourages others. Thank you for your TEAMWORK Tyler!

The Math Lab and Writing Lab at Cannon are looking for students interested in becoming peer tutors for the 2024-25 school year!

What:
Interest Meeting for Peer Tutoring in Math Lab or Writing Lab
When: Lunch, the first 20 minutes, Wednesday, April 17th
Where: 606, the Academic Resource Center (ARC)
Who: Any upper school students interested in peer tutoring. You DO NOT have to be an “expert” at math or writing. Rather, we are looking for people who are curious, friendly, and responsible. We will train you on what to do.
Why: “By learning you will teach, by teaching you will learn.” We know that students often learn best from each other. You will be giving back to your school and community through service. You will also learn a lot from the experience, and we believe, find that helping others is a lot of fun!
How: Email–or find–Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Vreeburg, or Mr. Scurlock with your questions. If you are even a little bit interested, come to the meeting to find out if it would be a good fit for you.
