Congratulations to Eleanor Avett on winning the Greater Cabarrus Reading Association’s Young Authors Contest. Eleanor’s poem was chosen to represent3 Cabarrus County in the statewide competition. She will be honored in April for her accomplishment. Thank you for sharing your PASSION with the world, Eleanor!

Coleson Bryan, Joshua Vining, Max Pegram, and Tripp Cooler all helped Mrs. Velandia move some heavy packages from the parking lot to Foundation Hall. We appreciate your TEAMWORK, friends!

Josiah King and Trent Loggins showed RESPECT for our community spaces by cleaning up the entire Commons before leaving school.

On Monday, members of Cannon School’s DECA Chapter competed at the district competition, and we are thrilled to celebrate their incredible success! Competing for the first time ever, our students stood out among thousands of participants, earning recognition in several categories:

Jackson Laws, Ben O’Hara, and Hudson Higbea all demonstrated PASSION by coordinating a Student Council sanctioned kickball tournament for the Class of 2027! Lots of fun was had by all! (And shout out to Ben for earning a Core Value … all the way from Sweden!) 😉

In an epic showdown, Karthik Ganesh and Linden Sonnefeld displayed PASSION and COURAGE while battling it out on the tennis court in front of many supporters, fans, and friends.

Emma Westgarth-Taylor, Grant Lam, and Griffin Evans showed tremendous KINDNESS by helping with a makerspace loveseat swap-out.

Joel Fortner shows consistent RESPECT for shared spaces and materials by taking lead on shop cleanup & reset in the MiLL.

Jade Adams, Carly Benz, Madeleine, Carlock, Carsyn Cavitt, Jaiya Crowder, Taylar Gordon, Kaila Greiner, Addie Hartz, Fiona Nagle, Josie Pittman (extra shout-out for organizing everything), Grace Ryan, Ella Sonnefeld, and Brielle Wilson all displayed KINDNESS by gathering supplies for and packing FIFTEEN Thanksgiving Bags of Hope to help families in our community. Way to go Oswald Advisory!
