All Upper School Students – Welcome back!  If you are ready to spread some school spirit, to take on team challenges, to support our athletic teams and you have the desire to learn stunting, tumbling, dance and cheer – then you are invited to attend Cannon School Varsity Cheerleading practices this week.  Cheerleading will meet Tuesday – Thursday at 3:45 in the Blue Gym – bring workout clothes and water to practice.  For more information contact Mrs. Mcclanahan in College Counseling or Coach Milan (jmilan@cannonschool.org).

 SENIORS: College Kick-off will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 9:00am-12:00pm in Taylor Hall.  This workshop is meant to prepare seniors, and the parents who support them, as they begin the college admission process.  All seniors and at least one parent from each senior’s family are required to attend.  The college counseling team is ready to go and looking forward to working with the Class of 2014.  See you on August 24^th!

Cannon Theater Company auditions for both the fall production of Rhinoceros and the winter production of Much Ado About Nothing will take place after school from Wednesday August 28 through Wednesday September 4. Students can sign up for a half-hour audition slot and pick up audition info by the Cannon Theater Company bulletin board located in the Upper School building inside the stairwell near Foundation Hall. Those students with fall athletic commitments who

Chase Huseby demonstrated KINDNESS when he helped College Counseling move into new offices!  Way to Go Beyond as a student new to Cannon School.

Eric Ruddy and Marcia Van Inwagen demonstrated TEAMWORK and KINDNESS, when they helped a teacher with a morning mini-emergency when her computer wouldn’t work. Both of them helped by offering to find  a new computer and then fixing the old computer within ten minutes!

Zach King showed KINDNESS when he helped Mrs. Ramsey move stools into Boswell Gym for community meeting.

Madeleine Farrington  demonstrated KINDNESS when she graciously offered to escort our new advisory member to the dean’s offices to help her figure out her schedule.

New students interested in playing sports this fall should plan to attend practice today or tomorrow at the latest in order to have the opportunity to be part of the team.  US has been practicing for 3 weeks,but new students will have the opportunity to participate starting today.  Interested students can simply show up for practice, they can email the coach (information on the athletic website), they can email Ms. Ervin at bervin@cannonschool.org, or they can email me at pmoyer@cannonschool.org     .
