The United Schutzhund Clubs of America will be hosting the USCA National Show for German Shepherd Dogs on October 10 through 13^th, at the Iredell County Fairgrounds. This event is shaping up to be the single largest breed show for German Shepherd Dogs in U.S. history, and we could use many volunteers on October 12 and 13th. We are looking for student groups that would be interested in earning service-hour credit to meet their National Honor Society, Beta Club, Key Club, ROTC, FFA, 4-H, etc. requirements. Student responsibilities could include being runners for judges’ scoresheets and refreshment needs, assisting the tabulation and registration teams, at the Information booths, and general assistance for the event. The AquaCougs are looking forward to returning to action this winter! It is hard to believe there is only 59 days until we get to hang out at 5:50am in the aquatic utopia swimming wonderland  (aka the pool deck of the west Cabarrus YMCA).

Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey below so we can create a potential roster for planning purposes. When I get survey results in I will schedule a lunch time interest meeting.

There will be a meeting of all girls interested in varsity softball on Friday, September 6 at 11:15 am in the Private Dining Room.  Please grab some lunch and come meet with Head Coach Maves to receive information concerning workouts and the upcoming season in the spring.

Math Café Grand Opening event on Friday, September 6, 2019 in room 606 (the ACC room) before school, starting at 7:30 AM . There will be food and drinks and mathematics, served up fresh by your favorite math faculty members. Math questions are welcome, but not required to attend. Regular Math Café hours:

There will be an interest meeting for any male students wishing to play varsity men’s lacrosse this spring on Friday, September 6 at 11:15 am in Foundation Hall.  Please grab some lunch and plan to meet Coach Schattner in Foundation Hall to go over information concerning the upcoming season.

Auditions for Cannon Theater Company’s winter musical “Bright Star” will happen on Thursday September 5 and Monday September 9! Special audition slots are reserved for fall athletes who can’t come during the regular audition times. For more information and to sign up for an audition, go to www.cannonschool.org/ctc

SOPHOMORES: You will earn points for your Houses by breaking in tour boots for Outward Bound. Wear your hiking boots on the following days and let your House leaders know: 9/6.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores are invited to sign-up on Naviance Student to visit with College Admission Representatives coming to Cannon School.  Students must get permission from their classroom teachers prior to attending an admissions event. Students who need assistance accessing their Naviance account or registering for college visits should contact their college counselor.

Hey everyone! This year, Griffin, Mason, Heidi, and I will be starting a filmmaking club. If you have a passion for any aspect of filmmaking, whether it be screenwriting, acting, editing, or are just looking for something to do after school, we would love to have you join! It’s HOT outside. Soon it will be cold, icy, and miserable.  The Class of 2020 is trying to raise funds for a gift to Cannon School.  If you are interested in submitting a bid for one of four PRIMO parking spaces, email Dean Booker with the maximum you’d be willing to donate.  All bids must be received by 8/30 at 3:05pm.  Help yourself and the Class of 2020!!!
