North Carolina Outdoor & Adventure And Education
Our vision is a world supported by people and institutions who are naturally inclined to serve one another while protecting the natural environment. We believe in creating empowering experiences. Our core curriculum goes beyond wilderness skills — it teaches our students critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and a compassion for and duty to the environment.

The National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education’s (NCOAE) High School Summer Semester is an immersive, 32-day academic and outdoor adventure designed for rising 10th and 11th-grade students. This unique program combines on campus academics and field based research expeditions, with hands-on leadership training, offering students the opportunity to earn high school credit while exploring some of the world’s most breathtaking environments. Held in North Carolina, Oregon, and Ecuador, the Summer Semester blends classroom learning with real-world application in the outdoors.

Check out THIS LINK for a video about students from Cape Fear Academy who participated in the NCOAE Ecuador Teen Expedition.
