Solar Eclipse Precautions
Be Super Safe!! Be Sure You View this Extraordinary Event Properly!
- Only view the eclipse using safe solar viewing glasses (“eclipse glasses”). It is never safe to look directly at the Sun except with eclipse glasses. Looking directly at the Sun can cause permanent eye damage. Regular sunglasses do not provide protection. We will only experience a partial eclipse; even when the Sun is 90% covered, it will not be safe to view without eclipse glasses. All students should have received glasses from your Advisor. Ask for them if you didn’t get a pair.
- DO NOT try to view the eclipse with binoculars or a camera, even if you are wearing eclipse glasses. Unfortunately, you’ll have to leave the photography to the professionals, don’t try and #doitforthegram 😆
