The Road to the Gossage Cup

Shawn Kennedy 🥳

Julia Schattner 🥳

At Cannon School, we have students and faculty who represent many belief systems, such as Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, secular humanism, and naturalism, to name a few. While religious and non-religious worldviews differ, we want to highlight shared human values like compassion, ethics, reason, and critical thinking and their connection to our Core Values: Courage, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Passion, and Kindness. These values unite us across belief systems.

To do this we want to provide a physical space—a bulletin board or wall—where Upper School students can post material that educates others about belief systems and promotes interfaith understanding. Through this space, students will share their beliefs, celebrate their cultural richness, and educate the community about diverse beliefs and backgrounds.

Please come to the first meeting of the Interfaith Wall Club and take a leadership role in making this happen!

Thursday, March 28th, during Office Hours 12:55
Ms. Wang’s Chinese Classroom
(World Language Hallway, first floor).

9th, 10th, and 11th grade students interested in being a Student Council Grade Level Representative, please submit email JoeTro jtrojan@cannonschool.org to get more details.

TODAY!!

For those interested in working with Lower School students, this is an opportunity for you!  On April 19, Lower School will be hosting our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day from 9:00-11:30.  While most students have a special visitor that day, not all do.

We are looking for Upper School students who could partner with students who do not have a visitor and engage in a variety of activities throughout the morning.  You will be partnering with a student, or for classroom activities, cookies/lemonade, and a photo booth memento!  Please reach out to Mrs. Fox as soon as possible if you want in on this amazing opportunity!

We are also in need of students to help stand in the hallways and serve as a guide for grandparents to find rooms or to answer general questions.  We will have a short meeting to cover these details closer to the date.

Thank you for being interested in Cannon School’s Cars and Coffee 2024, presented by Greg Watson and Balin Surface! The event will take place at Cannon School on Saturday, March 30th, at 10:00 AM. If you are planning to attend our event, please fill out a short form using the QR code above or on the poster. We’re excited for you to join us for a morning of automobiles and new connections, as well as a coffee truck! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact BSurface@cannonschool.org.

Students:  If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser, including collecting products, you must receive prior approval.  Please fill out this form, print it, and turn it into Mrs. Weakland.

The Department of Student Connection has identified a need to improve student group and community representation in our social media. Please utilize this form to submit photos, videos, flyers, etc. with captions through this Google Form OR send files and captions to Dean Zelaya mzelaya@cannonschool.org to be posted on the @CannonUpperSchool Instagram account. We would like all voices, groups, organizations, and clubs to be represented, united, and cherished! Reach out to Ashmi Trivedi ’24 atrivedi@cannonschool.org if you have questions.
